“Apples to Apple.” Internally, rapid commerce provider Blinkit’s town halls were referred to as such, reflecting the company’s desire to provide everything from apples to Apple items like the iPhone. Currently, it appears that this goal will eventually be attained.
Albinder Dhindsa, the CEO and founder of Blinkit, tweeted on Friday that the quick-commerce startup has partnered with Apple reseller Unicorn to sell Apple products, including the recently released iPhone 14.
On July 18, we reported that Blinkit had long wished to expand into a larger e-commerce market by offering goods outside of the typical quick commerce categories.
“iPhone 14 in minutes! We have partnered with Unicorn to bring Apple iPhone and accessories to Blinkit customers within minutes. Available in Delhi and Mumbai for now. Update to the latest [Blinkit] app version on your iOS and Android phones to buy,” Dhindsa tweeted on Friday.
“Blinkit’s tie-up with Unicorn marks the first time Apple products are [being] made available to customers on a quick-commerce platform like Blinkit, where they can get their hands on iPhone, Apple Watch, Airpods, and multiple Apple accessories within minutes,” a company spokesperson said in a statement.
Zomato acquired the grocery delivery startup in June for Rs 4,447 crore.
With Apple Mono Brand Stores and Apple Authorized Service Centers in Mumbai, Pune, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Chandigarh, and New Delhi, Unicorn has 38 points of contact across the country.
Moreover, Blinkit stated last month that prints would be delivered to users’ doorsteps in 11 minutes, a feature that will be helpful to both parents and working professionals.
