Cars24, an online marketplace for used cars has raised a total of $450 million at the valuation of $1.84 billion. The startup raised $320 million in Series F equity and $110 million in debt from diversified financial institutions.
The Series F equity round was led by DST Global, Falcon Edge, and SoftBank Vision Fund 2, along with participation from Tencent and existing investors Moore Strategic Ventures and Exor Seeds.
With the latest infusion, the Gurugram-headquartered Company aims to expand its worldwide presence alongside building its cars, bikes, and financing business in India. It also further plans to invest in technology that delivers the best customer experience possible.
Post launching of its operations in April this year, the company has sold more than 1000 cars in UAE. A week before the platform also officially announced its launch with a new campaign in Australia.
Founded in 2015 by Chopra, Mehul Agrawal, Ruchit Agarwal and Gajendra Jangid, the Used car’s platform aims to bring a change in the way consumers buy and sell cars by leveraging technology. The company has around 90 per cent market share in the online used car segment and has clocked over a 13million monthly traffic and over 4 lakh transactions till now.
