Drone Startup Skylark Drones raises $3 Mn in pre-Series A led by InfoEdge and IAN Fund

Drone startup, Skylark Drones had raised $3 million in a pre-series A funding round led by the InfoEdge Ventures and IAN Fund. This round also involved the participation of Fowler Westrup, IKP AdvantEdge Founders, Redstart Labs, and Vimson Group.

It had raised its last seed round of funding in 2018 Company plans to utilize the fund generated from this round of funding to enhance its product offering and expand further into the overseas market.

Founded in 2015, the technology platform of Skylark Drones leverages the data gathered from drones to provide actionable business intelligence to enterprises. With its offices in the US and India, the startup is engaged with customers in different sectors such as solar power, mining, agriculture, real estate, and inspection.

The startup also provides AI-powered solutions for platform integrations; execute drone missions, API access, and even compliance with local airspace regulations.

According to Skylark Drones, these solutions allow customers to access the advantages of drone data analytics and use it to plan better, construct faster and operate more safely.

Commenting on the funding received, Skylark Drones Co-founder & CEO Mughilan Thiru Ramasamy said, “Our vision is to unlock the economic potential of aerial intelligence.”

Speaking on the Investment, Amit Behl, Partner, InfoEdge Venture Fund said, “Aerial intelligence is a theme that has immense potential in itself as it provides significant cost, time, and accuracy benefits for large infrastructure companies which face frequent cost and time overruns. Being amongst a limited set of players who have a full-stack offering, we believe that the opportunity for the company is at a global level.”
