Educational SaaS platform CollPoll raised INR 16 Cr from Prime Venture Partners. Increasing the team size, product development and product marketing are the key areas where the fresh funding will be spent. The startup has raised INR 26 Cr so far in total funding.
Founded by Hemant Sahal, in 2013, CollPoll offers a SaaS solution that provides Automation, Digital learning and analytics for educational Institutions. The company targets more than 8000 premier educational institutions of which it has partnered with 40, surging its userbase over 100K. With a current team size of 40, CollPoll plans to add 300 more institutions to its portfolio by end of 2022.
CollPoll’s USP is addressing various demands by educational institutions such as examination management, fee structure, etc., Hundreds of its fellow SaaS platforms doesn’t meet these specific educational requirements which the platform has gained on.
Various Marquee Institutions like O.P. Jindal Global University, Ashoka University, Jagran Lakecity University have been using CollPoll’s Solutions. Although the company have users from SEA and META regions, Mr Sahal, Founder of CollPoll, stated that their primary focus will be on India.
Speaking about the product and opportunity, Hemant Sahal, Founder of CollPoll, said, “Amid the lack of adequate products, educational institutions opting for generic products shows the growing demand in the market. CollPoll has come up with a suite of solutions including LMS with video conferencing integration, AI-proctored examinations, workflow automation for contactless and paperless campuses, and CSN for digital engagement.”
Since the pandemic, the edtech sector has recorded massive growth in terms of funding, transformation in operations as well as teaching & learning processes. However, educational institutions have faced massive setbacks in managing processes of admissions, recruitment and other processes which were handled physically or in-person by the standard. This has given a massive opportunity to the startups like CollPoll, who provide digitization and hassle-free management of these processes
“Covid has fortunately or unfortunately given an unprecedented push to the company’s growth with huge traction towards a host of products like online fee management, examination management system, admission automation and so on,” Sahal further added about the extended opportunity due to Covid-19.
Speaking on the investment, Amit Somani, Managing Partner at Prime Venture Partners, said, “We are very bullish on edtech. We are also very bullish on SaaS. Those have been two big areas of focus for Prime. CollPoll, positioned at the intersection, is naturally a right fit investment for us.”
