Bangalore EV maker Simple Energy has launched its simple e-scooter, costing INR 1,09,999 (Ex-showroom). The scooter was launched on August 15. The Simple One comes with a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, which offers the desired maximum range of 236 km and 203 km in eco mode.
The 4G-enabled scooter has a top speed of 105 km per hour and will have four modes of a ride – eco, ride, dash and sonic, which can be accessed via a 7-inch touch screen panel. Simple One comes with features such as Bluetooth connectivity, geo-fencing, over-the-air updates, onboard navigation, access to music control and call management on a connected smartphone, as well as remote telemetrics and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The scooter also comes with a removable battery pack, which can be charged to any 15A charging socket. Adding the braking system and powertrain are the USP of the e-scooter, home-made and patented by Simple Energy.

The motorcycle has been launched in 13 states- Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Punjab. The electric scooter is also eligible for a FAME 2 subsidy of up to INR 60,000, so the actual price of the vehicle may vary depending on the state-wise subsidies.
As per the company, The e-scooter is now open to pre-orders starting at INR 1,947. Recently the company also launched a Simple Loop charging network for public and home charging. Simple Energy plans to launch more than 300 channels in the next seven months in 13 states. It is currently working on a two lakh sq ft factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, adding Phase 1 of the factory has an annual production capacity of one million vehicles.
