Fantico introduces Bollywood Celebrities’ NFT Collectibles

Fantico Celebrity NFT

Fantico, a licensed digital collectable platform introduced a new list of Bollywood collectables including the NFTs of singer Javed Akhtar’s handwritten lyrics, and a Versace jacket worn by actor Akshay Kumar in a movie. It curates digital assets pertaining to the fields of cinema, sports, art, and music.

Fantico has NFT collections featuring renowned Indian celebrities. These digital assets will be auctioned along with the physical piece of memorabilia it has tokenised.

The items that are going to be auctioned are:
· Handwritten lyrics of the song Hawa Hawai from Shekhar Kapoor’s Mr India. Signed by singer and music director Javed Akhtar
· Lyrics of the song Aaj Rapat Jaayen from the movie Namak Halaal
· Hand-written lyrics of the title track from the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
· Platinum jubilee trophy received by the movie Namak Halaal for completing 75 weeks in theatres.
· Versace trench coat worn by Akshay Kumar in the movie Dhadkan
· Ghazal singer Talat Aziz’s jacket and harmonium
· ‘Bollypunks’ by actor Johnny Lever, inspired by the incredibly popular (and ridiculously overpriced) crypto punk NFTs.

Abhayanand Singh, Co-founder of Vistas Media Capital and Investor of Fantico, said, “With this first of a kind NFT launch on our platform which merges the physical and the digital world, we hope that we can bring in a new method of monetisation for such creations. We are happy to add Bollywood celebrity centric collectables on our platform.”

NFTs provide creators with options that traditional fan merchandise couldn’t offer. For example, a creator can mint an NFT with a smart contract that sends proceeds to the creator each time the NFT is sold or bought, and that is just scratching the surface of what can be done with these tokens!

Kamal Haasan, an A-listed Indian producer, a director and an actor partnered with Fantico to launch a game based on him and his digital avatar as an NFT in a metaverse.

With the launch of these NFTs, many celebrities have entered the NFT space including Amitabh Bachchan, Sunny Leone and Salman Khan.
Most users buy NFTs on dedicated marketplaces, similar to how conventional cryptocurrencies are bought on exchanges. In 2021 more than $26.9 Bn worth of cryptocurrency was sent to ERC-721 and ERC-1155, the Ethereum smart contracts associated with NFT marketplaces and collections. NFT marketplaces such as OpenSea, don’t keep custody of users’ NFTs for them but instead allow them to transfer NFTs directly between their own wallets, like P2P exchanges.

As per reports, NFTs have achieved global popularity just like conventional cryptocurrency, with no region making up more than 40% of monthly web visits since March 2021.
