Yes Bank invests in Venture Catalysts to boost investments into digital finance and tech startups

Yes Bank has invested an undisclosed amount in Venture Catalysts Group Fund, an integrated start-up incubator that offers funding, mentorship and networking to startup founders.

With this investment, Yes Bank wants to strengthen its investments in digital finance and help tech companies invent and experiment with different use cases such as agriculture, healthcare, business and education.

The bank also invested in its affiliated companies – Beams Fintech Fund and 9Unicorns.

Venture Catalysts was founded in 2015 by Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, Anuj Golecha, Anil Jain and Gaurav Jain. The company invests between $250,000 and $1.5 million in early-stage startups. So far, it has backed more than 110 startups such as BharatPe, Beardo and Blu Smart Mobility among others. 

Ajay Rajan, Head of Countries Transactions- Yes Bank, said, “We are delighted to partner with Venture Catalysts and its associated platforms – Beams Fintech Fund and 9 Unicorns Accelerator Fund. We believe this partnership is on the way to becoming the premier bank for technology startups.”

Rajan believes that India is on the cusp of massive growth and collaboration between banks and technology companies – especially with fintech playing a crucial role in this journey.
