Global technology firm Zoho Corporation donated INR 5 crore on Thursday to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister public relief fund towards the hardship of the Covid-19 relief. The company had also decided to provide oxygen supplies and medical equipment worth INR 13 crore to public and private hospitals supporting economically backward section of society.
Founded in 1996 Zoho corporation is an Indian multinational technology company that specializes in Software-as-a-Service, software development and cloud computing. Zoho Corporation has become a SaaS major and created three brands namely Zoho, Manage Engine, and WebNMS. It is a private company with a public vision.
The SaaS giant on Thursday announced that it has set up a healthcare facility at its campus for employees and their families. And they were also running a community kitchen to cater for the food needs of village people near Chennai. In the community kitchen initiative, they serve across 30000 meals a day in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpet, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and also in Gudalur.
Another initiative by the company says that to meet the high demand for oxygen supplies, Zoho helped government hospitals in Tamil Nadu to get timely refills of around 200 oxygen cylinders. Besides this 200 new cylinders and 2000 provision kits had also been orders by the corporation with the further plan to add 12000 more to the existing numbers.
Additionally, the software company has distributed 150 HFNCs (high flow of nasal cannula) and 80 CPAP (continuous airway pressure) machines to various hospitals within the state.
Zoho is also supporting various NGOs in the distribution of these provision kits. Along with various NGOs the company had also co-hosted a free vaccine drive in the areas of Madurai. Taking the amount of vaccine available and considering the adequate supply of vaccine the company had decided to organize vaccine camps in the other local areas.
