Adobe has introduced Firefly AI Assistant, powered by Adobe Creative Agent, which brings the power of Adobe creative tools to a single conversational interface. Coming soon to Adobe Firefly, the all-in-one AI creative studio, Firefly AI Assistant lets creators describe the outcome they want in their own words, while the assistant orchestrates and executes complex, multi-step workflows across Adobe’s Creative Cloud apps, including Firefly, Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, Express, Illustrator, and more.
This marks a fundamental shift in the way creative work is done, allowing creators to direct the assistant to achieve the results they want, saving time and effort and bridging the gap between what they imagine and what they can create. Adobe’s approach to agentic creativity puts creators at the center of control: they provide the vision, judgment and creative direction, while the assistant takes care of the orchestration and execution. Firefly AI Assistant builds on Adobe’s investment in assistive, conversational and generative AI, expanding that foundation to drive a new era of agentic creativity.
“Adobe is leading the charge toward a new era of agentic creativity, where you direct how your work takes shape and your perspective, your voice and your taste become the most powerful creative instruments of all,” said David Wadhwani, President, Creativity & Productivity Business, Adobe. “Adobe Firefly is a category unto itself, with the best models, the most powerful tools, and now, a fundamentally new way to create that gives you the combined power and precision of all our creative applications in one place.”
Adobe has also significantly expanded Firefly’s video and image editing capabilities, introducing new features to Firefly Video Editor, including studio-quality sound, advanced color adjustments, and integration with Adobe Stock, as well as new precision image editing capabilities such as Precision Flow and AI Markup. Firefly’s portfolio of more than 30 industry-leading AI models now includes Kling 3.0 and Kling 3.0 Omni, joining Google’s Nano Banana 2 and Veo 3.1, Runway’s Gen-4.5, ElevenLabs’ Multilingual v2, and more, giving creators unmatched choice and flexibility when creating.
Together, these innovations cement Firefly as the ultimate all-in-one AI creative studio, giving all creators the speed, control and creative freedom to go from idea to high-quality content.
Firefly AI Assistant: A new way to create in all Adobe apps
Firefly AI Assistant allows creators to simply describe the outcome they want, then orchestrate and execute complex, multi-step workflows in Adobe Photoshop, Firefly, Premiere, Express, Lightroom, Illustrator, and more, all within a single unified conversational interface. For creators of all levels, this shift toward agentic creation simplifies the process of getting started and moving quickly, without having to navigate between multiple apps or follow manual steps. For creative professionals, it unlocks the ability to direct more complex, multi-step workflows, combining speed with the control and precision necessary for high-quality creative work.
Coming soon to the Firefly app, Firefly AI Assistant will include:
• A single, unified conversational interface: Firefly AI Assistant brings content creation to a unified conversational interface within the Firefly app. Creators can describe the outcome they want, and the assistant orchestrates workflows, displays results, and maintains context, progress, and decisions between sessions. That context is carried seamlessly across Adobe’s various applications, eliminating the need to start from scratch.
• AI-powered, creator-led: The assistant keeps creators in control by asking contextual questions, showing decisions, and presenting suggestions. Creators can intervene at any time to guide, refine or adjust the results.
• Predefined Creative Skills: A growing library of Creative Skills, designed specifically for creative workflows, allows the assistant to execute complex, multi-step tasks from a single prompt. Creators can use one of Adobe’s predefined Skills, such as retouching portrait photos with consistent presets or generating content for different social channels, or customize and create their own.
• Customized for each creator: The assistant can learn the creator’s preferences over time, including preferred tools, workflows, and aesthetic choices, to deliver more consistent and tailored results.
• Asset and context awareness: The assistant understands the content being created, including images, videos, designs, and brand assets, allowing it to take more relevant and contextual actions.
• Review and iteration integrated with Frame.io: Creators can ask the assistant to organize and share work on Frame.io, where stakeholders can review and provide feedback. The wizard will interpret that feedback and automatically apply changes using the best tools, shortening the cycle from review to final production-ready content.
Firefly AI Assistant allows creators to easily describe the result they want
Adobe will also bring this new way of creating with Adobe apps to leading third-party AI models, including Anthropic’s Claude, allowing creators to directly access the best of Adobe from the environments they work in every day.
“The best creative work flows between thinking and doing,” said Paul Smith, Chief Commercial Officer, Anthropic. “Together with Adobe, we are exploring new ways to help creators conceptualize a project in Claude and directly access Adobe Firefly to execute it. That can be a significant change in the way creative work is done.”
