OVHcloud and Quandela, specialist in photonic quantum computing, announce the arrival of the Belenos computer to the OVHcloud quantum platform. Introduced last fall, OVHcloud’s Quantum Platform makes quantum computing, a revolutionary technology, more accessible through a Quantum-as-a-Service (QaaS) consumption model. With the addition of Belenos, OVHcloud continues to roll out its ambitious roadmap to offer quantum computers accessible through the cloud.

Belenos, from Quandela, is based on photonic quantum technology to offer 12-qubit computing power, allowing organizations to experiment with new algorithms in varied and innovative fields such as classification and imaging, accelerating AI calculations or quantum machine learning (QML). New use cases in the fields of electromagnetic simulation, structural mechanics, combustion in engines, materials simulation, meteorology and Earth observation also benefit from advances in quantum computing.

From 2022, OVHcloud supports the European quantum ecosystem by making available the widest range of quantum emulators based on its infrastructures, with more than a thousand users. With fifteen quantum emulators (including Perceval and MerLin) at affordable prices (from 0.03 euros per hour), the group contributes to familiarization with the different models of quantum computing.

“We are delighted to deliver on the promise of the Quantum Platform with the addition of a second reference quantum computer, Belenos, from the French company Quandela. The quantum revolution is accelerating and OVHcloud is playing its role as a European cloud leader within the ecosystem. »he states Miroslaw Klaba, R&D Director of OVHcloud.

OVHcloud’s Quantum Platform offers access to fully operational quantum computers, aiming to drive the acceleration and growing adoption of quantum computing in private organizations. Thus, the Belenos QPU is offered in “as-a-service” mode and has billing based on actual usage, up to the second, and without a commitment to permanence.

«The incorporation of Belenos 12 qubits to the OVHcloud offer represents a decisive step for quantum computing in Europe. Accessible through the cloud, this photonic computer becomes a tangible tool for companies. With OVHcloud we offer both data scientists and innovators the means to develop their algorithms on a flexible and sovereign infrastructure,” duck Niccolò Somaschi, CEO & co-founder of Quandela.
