The Spanish technology group aggity has acquired the company Bluenest from the Spanish company Globalvia. With this operation, which coincides with the arrival of Abraham López to the company as the new CEO, aggity enters the defense/AI market which, according to company data, will move more than 800 million euros in our country between now and 2030. Estimates suggest that defense spending in Spain in this same period will reach 190,000 million euros.
aggity, which expects to obtain a turnover of over 25 million euros in this new business area during the first year of activity, is also finalizing another operation to acquire a second company specialized in the design and production of cutting-edge drones for the transport of large goods or actions in response to civil emergencies. With this, aggity is at the forefront of innovative air mobility and its application to dual security and defense projects.
It should be noted that aggity is part of the Canary Islands Aerospace Cluster (CAAC) and is already leading a consortium of companies for the development of a project for the ministries of Science and Innovation, Defense and Ecological Transition in which it provides the layer of artificial intelligence, analytics and coordination, to create an autonomous response system with drones in the event of dual emergencies (fires, floods or any type of incident that requires aerial support).

aggity’s strategy, which also assumes a process of reorganization of its business, is precisely to take advantage of all its knowledge and experience in data analytics and AI for its application in the defense and civil emergency sector, “very deficient in terms of the use of these technologies,” aggity points out.

Regarding the purchase of Bluenest, which from now on will operate under the name Bluenest by aggity, the operation contemplates the incorporation of the general director of this company, Ignacio Rodríguez, as CEO of the new business area, as well as its entire engineering team.
Bluenest, until now belonging to the multinational Globalvia, was created as a line of innovation in air mobility. The company is specialized in the design, development and operation of vertiports and infrastructure for urban and advanced air mobility. Since its creation, Bluenest has participated in leading European projects and has established alliances with key players in the air mobility ecosystem. Bluenest provides aggity with technological capabilities in airspace management and autonomous mobility.
