Minsait, from Indra Group, has successfully completed its projects for the Personalized Digital Care Plan (PADP), a strategy of the National Health System (SNS) financed with European funds to adapt public healthcare to the needs and health status of its patients through technology.

According to the certifications granted by the Ministry of Health, the technology company Minsait has demonstrated, within the expected deadline –before June 30–, the viability and effectiveness of its pilots based on real use cases, such as the monitoring of chronic patients with diabetes or heart problems through telemonitoring.

Minsait, which is attending the XIII International Digital Health Congress this week to address the transformation of the health system through innovation, data and artificial intelligence (AI), integrates benefits for users of public services and their professionals through its Onesait Healthcare technological platform.

Solution adapted to each assistance program

Minsait participates in the implementation of the PADP of nine autonomous communities with this solution. On the one hand, it personalizes health care, allows proactive monitoring of treatments and diseases from anywhere and encourages the participation of patients and their families in their health care. On the other hand, it provides tools for monitoring healthcare programs through dashboards, alerts and monitoring mechanisms that facilitate decision-making for healthcare professionals.

Through this technological platform and its monitoring capacity, Minsait has demonstrated the viability of its project for the monitoring of patients with multiple chronic diseases in Asturias, the Canary Islands, Extremadura and Galicia.

In the Balearic Islands and Castilla y León, the pilots developed by Minsait have effectively provided technological support to the monitoring of people with chronic heart failure. Also in the Community of Madrid, where the PADP is extended to people with diabetes.

The Foral Community of Navarra has relied on Minsait to telemonitor multi-pathological patients, with neurodegenerative disorders and survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer. And, in Castilla-La Mancha, the company has centralized the allergy and alert information system.

In the projects developed for the Community of Madrid, Asturias, the Canary Islands and Castilla y León, the model guarantees the traceability, availability and correct assignment of medical devices – such as tablets, blood pressure monitors, scales or pulse oximeters -, facilitating their management throughout the patient’s telemonitoring process.

Furthermore, the certifications granted by the Ministry of Health guarantee that these pilots lay the foundations for extending the model to other pathologies. This is, in fact, one of the next steps, in addition to adding a greater number of patients and devices, reinforcing continuous monitoring and evaluation capabilities through indicators and monitoring tools, and transversally incorporating artificial intelligence to maximize the value of the data and support clinical decision making.

Minsait completes the connection of 50 hospitals in the Únicas Network

The Minsait project in the Unique Network, a specific initiative of the PADP to improve the care of pediatric patients with rare or minority diseases (EEMM) through technology, is also advancing according to forecasts.

Minsait has already completed the development of its network platform, which will connect 50 public hospitals spread throughout all the autonomous communities. This initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Health and the Institute for the Development and Integration of Health (IDIS), faces a new phase focused on piloting the platform in production in Madrid, Catalonia, Aragon and the Basque Country. In parallel, the certification of hospitals in the rest of the autonomies will advance for their progressive incorporation into the model.

Once this phase is completed, healthcare professionals will be able to share clinical information with a global vision of pediatric patients affected by rare diseases, facilitating collaboration between specialists from different hospitals and territories.

The next step will be the incorporation of more hospitals, pathologies and age groups to the Únicas Network. The platform will also be able to integrate primary care, adopting artificial intelligence and advanced analytics tools and adding images as a support resource for professionals.
