The week begins with new appointments in the ICT sector, affecting Equifax, NetApp, Ericsson, Personio and Esker. Equifax has appointed Santiago Uriel as its new CIO, while NetApp, Personio and Ericsson have appointed new CEOs.

Santiago Uriel: Equifax has entrusted Santiago Uriel with the position of CIO and CTO of the company. Uriel comes from Haya Real State where he has held that position for the last nine years and whose main mission was to create a new complete information systems platform for debt management and the management and sale of real estate, migrating from a legacy environment to a new cloud-based architecture. A Telecommunications Engineer, he has worked in Management Consulting companies and joined Chase Manhattan Bank in Spain in 2000 as CTO, where he managed the Bank’s Internet Services in Private and Corporate Banking activities. After the merger of Chase Manhattan and JP Morgan, he coordinated the consolidation of the Core Systems in the new Bank’s Centers in NY, London and Asia as CIO and COO. In 2004 he joined the Spanish Confederation of Savings Banks, as CIO of the Confederation’s Cooperation Area. Since 2011, he has been General Manager of the entire Cooperation Division, with full responsibilities in the following areas: Technology and Innovation, Customer Management and Marketing, Efficiency, Payments and Operations and Regulation. Member of the main Banking Associations in Spain: Member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Clearing House (Iberpay-ACH), Member and Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Interbank Cooperation Centre. Member of the Board of Directors of the Biometrics Institute (Australia/United Kingdom). In March 2015, he joined Haya Real Estate as CIO, member of the Executive Committee.

Maite Ramos NetAppMaite Ramos NetApp

Maite Ramos: NetApp has just appointed Maite Ramos as its new general manager for Spain and Portugal. Ramos will report directly to José Manuel Petisco, who has recently assumed the role of vice president of NetApp for the EEMI region (Eastern Europe, Africa & Middle East, Spain and Portugal, and Latin America). One of Maite Ramos’ main responsibilities in her new position will be to execute NetApp’s global strategy – a market leader in storage and data management technologies – to make the concept of Intelligent Data Infrastructure that the company champions available to national companies and public bodies. The executive has accumulated a wealth of experience in her time at companies such as Commvault, HP, Lenovo or Dynabook-Toshiba, where she has held positions as general manager and marketing manager, among others.

Diego Martinez EricssonDiego Martinez Ericsson

Diego Martinez: has been appointed new President of Ericsson in the Iberia region, which includes the company’s business in Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar, and CEO of Ericsson Spain, positions he will assume from November 1, 2024. Diego comes from MASORANGE, where he held the position of General Manager of Customers and Products. In his more than 24 years at the Orange Group, Diego has held different management positions with responsibility in finance, sales and marketing in different areas such as telecommunications or financial products and services, as well as international experience in France or Romania. Diego Martínez succeeds Jorge Navais who has been occupying this position on an interim basis, replacing Andrés Vicente, who since May 1 has held the position of Vice President of the company and responsible for Ericsson’s business in the Southeast Asia and India region. Jorge Navais will return to his permanent position as Head of the Global Account for Telefónica, where he will continue to be a valued member of the Ericsson Iberia management team.

Cristina Balaguer: Esker has announced the appointment of Cristina Balaguer as the new Chief Financial Officer of Esker Ibérica, replacing David Andrés, who will take over as general manager of the subsidiary. Cristina has a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the CEU San Pablo University and has been part of the Esker team since 2018, when she joined the company’s financial department and has witnessed the company’s significant growth in recent years. Esker’s new CFO, who began her professional career in the financial sector in 2007, leads a team of five people who work closely with the company’s legal department.

Hugo Olaizola: Personio has hired Hugo Olaizola as its new Country Manager for Spain. Olaizola joins to lead, direct and oversee the company’s operations in Spain, as well as support its product teams in creating market-leading solutions for HR leaders. Hugo Olaizola brings over 15 years of experience working in high-growth companies. He has always held general management, commercial and strategy positions in multiple companies, most recently as Director of CoachHub for Iberia and Latin America. His previous experience also includes working in dynamic and competitive environments in London, Dublin and Madrid. Hugo’s experience also includes a role as Debt Origination and Multi-Product Solutions Manager for Banco Santander across a broad portfolio of companies in the UK, as well as Team Leader for LinkedIn’s sales department. He has also held leadership positions at Europe’s largest employee platform, Wagestream, leading the Spanish market. Other experiences include founding two startups (Plate-Out & IntoScale) and writing and teaching a sales course for Crehana.
