Are you flying by plane? Meet the gadgets, good practices, tips and tips that will realistically improve the comfort of travel. From series in “offline” to melatonin – it’s all you really need on board.
Every passenger should know: patents that make life easier on the plane.
A plane flight can be a pure pleasure or an annoying string of minor inconveniences. Often this is not the price of the ticket, but the details decide whether the journey will pass peacefully. Below you will find a set of proven tips that will help you avoid stress, discomfort and technological traps at a height of 10,000 meters.
Entertainment offline-get ready for the lack of Wi-Fi
Wi-fi on the plane can be unreliable, expensive or inaccessible, especially in cheap lines. That is why it is crucial to prepare offline entertainment. Download movies, series, podcasts or playlists from platforms such as Netflix, Spotify or Crunchyroll. Make sure you have enough space on the device. It is also worth thinking about books. E-books or audiobooks (e.g. with Legimi or Storytell) is a great alternative to paper volumes. Download the content in advance to avoid rush and not waste data transfer at the airport. Also check in advance whether your subscription allows you to download – some cheaper plans have restrictions.
Bluetooth adapter for the on -board system
Many passengers do not know that the on -board system can be connected to your own Bluetooth headphones. Those on the cable that we get from the crew, to put it mildly, do not capture the quality of the sound. Just equip yourself with a small Bluetooth adapter, which you connect to the headphone jack in the chair. The price of the device, depending on the brand, ranges from around 100 to 200 PLN. The sound will go directly to your headphones, without a tangle of cables and in much better quality. Such a gadget will also be useful later, e.g. for a hotel TV. If you do not travel yourself, it is worth choosing a model with the possibility of connecting with two devices at the same time.
Note with data – less search, more peace
When traveling, in different places, you often need to provide the same data – passport number, hotel address, contact details. Instead of looking for them in documents every time, prepare a note on your phone. This practice will facilitate the completion of forms, registration at the hotel or contact with the carrier. Also add flight number and planned arrival time – these are data that taxi drivers or receptionists often ask about. Protect the note with a password if it contains data of a special importance.
Little travel sachet
The sachet, the kidney or “Sling Bag” is the best way for a convenient and safe storage of things you must have access to. Documents, telephone, headphones, pen, handkerchiefs – all this is worth having at hand. When packing EDC into a sachet, you don’t have to reach for a hatch each time.
Magsafe handle – cinema on the table
For iPhone users from Magsafe (or generally smartphones protected by a case supporting this standard) a very convenient travel solution has been created. It is a magnetic handle with a leg, a clamp or a suction cup that can be attached to a table or window on the plane. With it, you can comfortably watch movies without holding the phone in your hand. Some models offer adjustment of the angle of inclination, which is especially useful in tight conditions of the aircraft cab.
Additional battery on board
Long flights quickly exhaust the battery of the devices. Even if you plan to use the on -board system, your own device is the basis. Take a powerbank with a capacity of up to 100 Wh (about 27,000 mAh). This is usually the maximum for which the airlines allow, but it is worth making sure what this policy looks like for your carrier. Such a power bank must land in hand luggage. Also pack the appropriate cable – some aircraft have a USB socket, but unfortunately they do not always work. And most often it is a USB standard.
Think about the headphones from Anc
Good headphones with noise reduction allow you to cut off the noise of engines and passenger conversations. You don’t even have to turn on music or podcasts. Anc will simply allow you to “calm” the environment. It is also worth saving yourself a short playlist with white noise, sounds of nature or relaxing music – it always helps to calm down and fall asleep. Applications such as Calm or Mynoise allow you to download such offline content.
Physical comfort – unusual tricks for comfort
A long sitting in a tight chair can be tasty. The travel pillow, preferably in the form of a croissant, improves sleep comfort. It is also worth having an empty water bottle with you, which can be filled free of charge after safety control (points with taps can be found today at most airports). Drink regularly – dry air in the cabin promotes dehydration. A small roller for foot massage is also a good idea, e.g. a tennis ball – improves circulation and reduces fatigue.
Good organization of documents
Keep a deck card, passport, visa or reservation confirmation at hand – both in digital and paper. Use applications such as Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Also save copies of tickets in the gallery as screenshots. Airlines applications allow you to quickly check the goal and change places. Also prepare a short list of key phrases in the target country – even a simple “where is the toilet?” He can make life easier.
Plan B in the event of delays
Delays are the daily bread of all airports in the world. You never know when your journey can unexpectedly extend. Just in case, it’s worth having an additional T -shirt or a few panties on hand. Hygienic mini -spice will also be useful: toothbrush, paste, deodorant and moisturized wipes. It is also worth preparing for “you have 15 minutes to change” situations. Download the map of the target airport in advance – platforms such as Flightaware or official airport applications will help you find yourself in a new place. A good solution is to save the terminal plan in PDF – even without the internet you will know where to go.
Melatonin – help with changing time zones
And finally, a tip related to travel between different time zones. If you have a long intercontinental flight, you should consider melatonin supplementation. The natural sleep hormone helps to switch the biological clock to the local time in the destination. The key is to accept it at the right time. In the leaflet attached to the specifics with melatonin, you can find exact instructions on how to dose it when we change time zones. This is not a sleeping medicine, but a support for the body that tries to keep up with the shift of hours.
