Ayesa Digital has incorporated artificial and quantum intelligence into the manufacturing of zero-emission aircraft. Through its R&D unit, i3B, it participates in the ‘New-Hegaz’ project, whose objective is to incorporate the most disruptive technologies into the zero-emission aircraft aeronautical industry, for the definitive takeoff of this sector.
Its Innovation Institute develops quantum algorithms to optimize processes, improve the detection of anomalies in real time and reinforce the safety of new propulsion systems.
Led by the CTA (Center for Aeronautical Technologies), this Ayesa Digital project explores the approach between Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, classical computing technologies and the potential of quantum technologies (computing and sensors) to respond to the challenges of the zero-emission aircraft aeronautical industry, with respect to the most efficient design and manufacturing and zero defects, and the strengthening of the safety associated with new propulsion systems.
Improve manufacturing and assembly processes
i3B’s role is to bring its experience and knowledge in AI and quantum to bring these emerging technologies to a level applicable in the aerospace industry. Thus, it is developing quantum algorithms to optimize manufacturing and assembly processes, generate new aerostructures for aircraft, improve the detection of anomalies in real time and reinforce the eco-sustainable safety of new propulsion systems based on hydrogen and hybrid batteries.
All in all, a generative design and more efficient manufacturing processes will be achieved for lighter and more complex aerostructures, new sensors will be developed for monitoring and communications, the security of onboard hydrogen and hybrid systems used as a source of energy will be reinforced, and new technologies such as quantum sensors, quantum Machine Learning and quantum optimization will be tested.
The company develops quantum algorithms, improves anomaly detection and strengthens the safety of new propulsion systems
This action is co-financed by the Department of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability of the Basque Government. With its contribution, i3B promotes the maturity of disruptive technologies that will mark the future of zero-emission aviation and reinforces its position at the forefront of quantum computing in the Basque Country.
