At its annual “Celosphere” event, Celonis has presented its Celonis Networks platform that expands process intelligence by connecting companies, creating a new level of shared transparency that transcends organizational boundaries. This allows each process to be optimized, both within a company and between different companies. A key example is the supply chain, where effective collaboration between suppliers and customers is essential to ensure a continuous flow from start to finish.

Eugenio Cassiano, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at Celonis, explains: “With Celonis Networks, for the first time, companies can exchange relevant information about their shared processes in near real time and at scale. Unlike traditional data exchange technologies, such as EDI, APIs or email, designed to share transactional data, Celonis Networks provides continuous and up-to-date information about processes.”

Success stories

Conrad Electronic, Schukat electronic and TD SYNNEX are already using Celonis Networks to create transparency in their shared order and procurement management process. Conrad Electronic is a multinational retailer of electronic and technical products, while Schukat electronic and TD SYNNEX are its suppliers. Although they were already using EDI technology, they faced ordering challenges such as outdated pricing and delivery dates.

With Celonis Networks, they can now automatically share 5,000 daily order updates in real time. The data shared includes information about the order status, planned delivery date, and shipping details. By supplementing its purchase orders with this data, Conrad Electronic gains actionable insights and can take proactive steps to mitigate issues such as information mismatches.

Axel Wieczorek, Head of Sales at Schukat electronic, comments: “Celonis Networks eliminates the need for the majority of manual work with EDI orders, whether it is an upgrade to our equipment or responding to an inquiry from our customer Conrad Electronic. Using data from Celonis Networks, Conrad Electronic’s procurement team can update orders directly, allowing us to respond faster.”

For his part, Pablo Fernández, director of Innovation and Process Transformation at TD SYNNEX, adds: “The market requires us to act quickly and provide updated data. We can only achieve this if the different elements of the supply chain share this data in a standard, open and efficient way. Therefore, Celonis Networks has the potential to drive a radical change in the optimization of business-to-business processes.”

Following this line, Jörg Frenzel, Director of Operational Excellence at Conrad Electronic, details: “Celonis Networks has allowed us to take advantage of a common data structure between the three companies. This is essential to be able to optimize our end-to-end supply chain, ensuring that we all speak the same ‘language’ of processes. This means that a Conrad purchase order can be ‘translated’ into a Schukat electronic or TD SYNNEX customer order and vice versa. With this common data model, we reach a new level of understanding of our shared process. And best of all, setting up data sharing on Celonis Networks can be done by business users and only needs to be done once. “New data and partners are seamlessly integrated into the existing configuration, a much simpler process than trying to set up a new partner with EDI.”
