Commvault has announced the availability of its Commvault Cloud platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This expansion will allow AWS users to access Commvault’s advanced data protection and cyber recovery tools, making it easier to automate these processes and simplify the reconstruction of cloud applications after cyber incidents.
The platform, which includes SaaS solutions previously known as Metallic, will offer AWS customers a number of options designed to improve cyber resilience. These solutions will help companies protect their data and recover quickly in the event of cyberattacks, consolidating a cloud-first approach where security is fundamental. With 73% of new data stored in the cloud, these tools bring greater flexibility and protection to organizations looking to secure their AWS cloud infrastructure.

Among the new solutions that will be available to AWS customers stands out Cloud Rewindan Appranix-based technology that acts as a “time machine” for AWS. This feature allows organizations to roll back to a clean copy of their data and quickly rebuild critical applications, minimizing downtime. Businesses will be able to return to operations in minutes instead of hours or days, significantly improving their ability to respond to incidents.

Furthermore, thanks to the recent acquisition of Clumio, the company will also introduce in the coming months a specific solution for Amazon S3. This technology will give S3 customers the ability to quickly restore clean, uncompromised data in the event of an attack, something especially relevant for companies that manage large volumes of data, such as that related to artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning ( ML). This functionality will represent a crucial advance in cyber resilience for S3 users.
Another important tool is Air Gap Protecta solution that will offer immutable and isolated copies of customer data in an enterprise tenant, providing a last line of defense. This technology will allow organizations to quickly recover their data in an isolated environment on AWS in the event of an attack, restoring their critical workloads. Additionally, Air Gap Protect makes it easy to perform forensic analysis and regularly verify cyber recovery plans, ensuring an efficient response to any incident.
Commvault already has a strong base of customers using its services to protect their data on AWS. In the last year, it has managed the backup of exabytes of data stored in AWS, and with the expansion of its comprehensive Commvault Cloud platform, the company expects even greater growth in the use of its solutions in this environment.
Availability at your fingertips
The solution set for AWS will be available in the coming months. Upon availability, common customers will be able to access these solutions in the AWS Marketplace.
