On February 18, more than 200 professionals gathered in Madrid to attend Shift 2025, the Cyber Report organized by Commvault. This encounter focused on redefining the concept of cybercraft in an increasingly oriented world towards the cloud, with the aim of ensuring the continuity of the business in a digital environment.
The day began with a presentation of Richard Gadd, vice president of Commvault for Emeai, who highlighted the growing threat of ransomware and its impact on organizations. “We live in a world kidnapped by the threat of ransomware, where each organization understands the potentially catastrophic consequences of a cyber attack,” GADD said. He stressed that cybercrime has become one of the biggest risks for companies and the world economy, according to the World Economic Forum.
Sergio López Chicheri, Country Manager of Commvault for Iberia, continued the discussion emphasizing that cybercrime represents 1.5% of world GDP. Cybersecurity in the Community of Madrid
Manuel Pérez Gómez, Deputy Minister of Digitization of the Community of Madrid, closed the day announcing new cybersecurity initiatives in the region.
