Basticated images are configured software files to align with CIS standards, reducing configuration vulnerabilities that can be exploited by cybercriminals. According to sector studies, configuration errors are responsible for 23% of cloud infrastructure attacks.

To mitigate these risks, from Commvault have presented the Commvault Cloud platform through images basticated in the main cloud markets. These images, preconfigured following the recommendations of the Internet Security Center (CIS), are available on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and VMware.

“Organizations demand solutions that are not only safe and in accordance with the regulations, but also easy to implement,” says Chris Montgomery, director of Security Technology for America in Commvault. “With our images, with the best practices of the CIS, we eliminate the conjectures and provide IT teams for a safe and preconfigured base to accelerate their cybercraft strategies and at the same time comply with the standards of the sector.”

Bassed images

With this launch, the company reinforces its commitment to cybersecurity, adding these deployment options to its existing security certifications, such as Fedramp High Authorized, ISO27001: 2013, SOC 2, Type II and FIPS 140-2.

Customers can use these new images to configure and implement Commvault Cloud quickly and safely, benefiting from:

  • Predefined compliance checks: Bassed images provide safe environments from the moment of deployment, ensuring that the control plane is installed and configured following the best practices of the industry.
  • Improved cybersecurity: When addressing common erroneous configuration risks, these images offer peace of mind in the face of possible farms by attackers.
  • Simplified compliance mapping: The reference points of the CIS are aligned with key security frames such as Nist CSF, Hipaa, PCI-DSS and ISO 27001, facilitating compliance with complex regulatory requirements.
  • Availability in hyperscala markets: Organizations can implement Commvault Cloud directly from AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or VMware markets, allowing fast and safe facilities with minimal effort.

Cloud trip acceleration

Commvault’s announcement comes at a time when more and more organizations are accelerating their migration to the cloud. According to IDC, it is expected that public cloud services will double until reaching 1.6 billion dollars in 2028. In the last year, Commvault has launched several cloud -centered solutions, such as Cleanroom Recovery, Cloud Rewind and Clumio Backtrack, designed to increase customer resilience in the cloud.

Now, with the basticted images of the CIS, the company carries the cloud resilience to a new level.

Availability

The bastic images of the Commvault CIS will be available globally this quarter without additional cost for customers. Based on the bastic operating system Rocky Linux 8, these images are designed to protect both software and infrastructure layers.
