Denodo has announced the market availability of Denodo Platform 9.5, strengthening its role as an active context provider for agentic AI, analytics and self-service data delivery.
The success of enterprise AI initiatives increasingly depends on AI agents, applications, and business users being able to access trusted business context in real time. Access to data alone is no longer enough. Organizations need shared business meaning, consistent governance, reusable data products, and direct, governed access to real-time data from the operational systems where business activity takes place.
Improving semantic and contextual intelligence
Thus, Denodo Platform 9.5 facilitates the definition, operationalization and reuse of the trusted business context. This new release strengthens the semantic and contextual intelligence of the Denodo Platform, while simplifying how teams create, manage, and share trusted data products across the organization. These are some of the new features that can be seen:
- An expanded business knowledge graph within the Denodo Data Marketplace, improving understanding of data context and providing a more reliable foundation for AI.
- Metric views, which allow defining standardized and consistent metrics within the semantic layer, improving the precision of business decisions based on indicators.
- Improved reasoning capabilities for Denodo Assistant, which speed up the development of data views.
- Expanded connectivity across the data and AI ecosystem, improving the flow of active context between heterogeneous data sources and the quality of business decisions.
Enrich data context
Denodo Platform 9.5 expands its Data Marketplace with a new 360 graph and asset extensions, enabling organizations to define an enterprise knowledge graph that incorporates a broader set of data ecosystem assets and the relationships that connect them. Teams can define and manage related assets, such as extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes, consuming applications, notebooks, business glossaries, data dictionaries, governance controls, data product contracts, data sharing agreements, AI skills, and other technical or business artifacts.
Governed data products, enriched with new semantic elements such as metric views, form an expanded knowledge graph that represents the business, technical, governance, and usage context surrounding enterprise data. This provides users with a more complete view of the processes, definitions, controls, relationships, and downstream consumers associated with the data, while giving AI assistants and agents a stronger foundation for discovery, reasoning, and automation.
Trust Metrics and Indicators for AI and Analytics
Denodo Platform 9.5 introduces metrics views, a new semantic layer object to define, govern and reuse business metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). Metrics such as revenue, profit, number of orders or customer value often depend on formulas, filters, dimensions and grouping criteria that are displayed differently in reports, dashboards and analytical tools.
With metric views, organizations can define these metrics once within the Denodo semantic layer, along with the corresponding formulas, relationships, dimensions, filters, and documentation. These trust metrics can then be reused in governed data products, Denodo Data Marketplace, business intelligence (BI) tools and AI-powered experiences, ensuring that all users work with real-time, contextualized and properly governed data to support trusted decisions and actions.
These capabilities help organizations bring more business insights into AI-governed workflows.
Denodo Platform 9.5 drives the evolution of VQL Shell towards a more conversational development experience. With its enhanced reasoning and disambiguation capabilities, Denodo Assistant now offers an interactive workflow that allows users to explore metadata, generate VQL code, refine query logic, and resolve issues. Using contextual suggestions and follow-up questions, Denodo Assistant helps teams create data views more quickly and accurately, without needing to know the exact syntax or the specific views or fields required for each operation.
New integrations and support for vector search
This release also expands connectivity to the modern data and AI ecosystem. Improvements include greater support for unstructured data, new integrations with Databricks and Azure AI Search, support for vector search using indexes that optimize semantic and document queries, improved compatibility with Delta tables and Databricks environments, as well as greater efficiency when using Denodo Lakehouse Accelerator with Iceberg.
Together, these capabilities help organizations bring more business information into governed AI, analytics, and data sharing workflows, reducing integration complexity and improving performance in distributed environments.
“Agentic AI is redefining what organizations need from their data infrastructure,” says Alberto Pan, CTO at Denodo. «AI systems need to understand the business context, work with reliable metrics, access operational data in real time and operate within clearly defined governance frameworks. “Denodo Platform 9.5 helps organizations provide the trusted active context that AI, analytics, and data consumers across the enterprise need to act with confidence.”
