Small companies in Spain, which have a high degree of digital tools, are more competitive. This is highlighted by GoDaddy’s “Digitalization Observatory 2024”, which also highlights that 88% of participants believe that digitalization has significantly optimized their work processes, freeing up essential time and resources.

And more and more small business owners are recognizing the benefits that digital solutions bring to their businesses, to the point that these tools have become essential for success.

Similarly, the Spanish entrepreneurs surveyed highlight the positive impact of digitalization on their operations: 77% claim that it has helped reduce business costs, while only 7% consider that it has increased their expenses.

«These results underline the commitment of Spanish entrepreneurs to digitalization. Tools such as digital payment systems and online booking platforms not only help improve efficiency but also provide new opportunities for growth. “GoDaddy supports small businesses with a comprehensive set of online solutions to help them succeed in today’s competitive digital marketplace,” said Rodrigo Pérez, International Marketing Director at GoDaddy.

Digital tools

A crucial aspect for Spanish entrepreneurs is to offer the best possible service to their clients. To achieve this, access to digital tools to operate and interact with customers is essential. According to GoDaddy data, 93% of respondents use email notifications to communicate with their customers.

Furthermore, digital billing (89%), online customer service tools (84%) and digital payment systems (84%) are widely used by Spanish entrepreneurs.

Digital tools not only help businesses offer their products or services to potential customers but also ensure a convenient shopping experience. In this sense, 70% of business owners have implemented or plan to implement an online reservation system to increase the likelihood that customers complete their purchases.

Despite advances in digitalization in recent years, there is still room to grow. Only 41% of small business owners in Spain use a customer relationship management (CRM) tool to track and manage interactions.

76% of entrepreneurs plan to increase their investment in online sales and marketing in 2024. Spanish entrepreneurs are increasingly determined to invest in digital sales and marketing, reflecting a strong commitment to expanding their digital presence, essential to compete and grow in an increasingly digital market.
