During the General Assembly of DigitalES (the Spanish Association for Digitalization), Federico Linares, president of the organization, called to redouble efforts towards a digital transformation that is inclusive, competitive and sustainable, aligning with the goals established in the program of the Digital Decade and the recent Compass for Competitiveness.
At the end of the Assembly, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Óscar López, addressed the business representatives present, thanking DigitalES for its support and pressure when necessary. “It is a pleasure to have such a dynamic and robust sector,” said López. “You are part of the success that has allowed Spain to grow twice as much as the OECD and four times more than the European average.” López assured that his Ministry will always be willing to collaborate with the sector in the digital transition.

Sánchez Galindo also reviewed the regulatory priorities of the sector, highlighting the continuous collaboration with the Administration and participation in public consultations and hearings to provide the sector’s perspective in the face of regulatory challenges. Among these challenges he mentioned the implementation and development of the Digital Services Act (DSA), the protection of content rights through artificial intelligence (Copyright IA), the new cybersecurity law for the transposition of the NIS2 directive, and at the European level, the digital networks law (DNA), which will be crucial to revitalize European competitiveness. He also underlined the importance of the draft law on the protection of minors in the digital environment, a priority shared with the Government.
The CEO also addressed the challenge of the talent and employment gap in the technology sector. “At DigitalES we promote actions to promote, coordinate and support professional training initiatives in technologies,” he stated.
