SAP has been announced that Heineken, one of the largest breweries in the world, has introduced an internal artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, called ‘Hoppy’, to improve business processes and offer access to real -time data.

With operations in more than 70 countries and more than 165 beer factories worldwide, Heineken sought to optimize access to data so that business users could find and analyze information quickly in their preferred language. Hoppy, a chatbot driven by artificial intelligence, which works on Sap Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), represents a significant advance in Heineken’s commitment to expedite internal processes and train the template.

“Heineken’s decision to adopt Sap Business AI for his internal chatbot is an example of an innovative approach to reinvent the operational efficiency and training of employees,” said Hands Raptopoulos, Chief Revenue Officer for APAC, Emea and Mee in SAP. “We are proud to see how our technology facilitates fluid internal communication and the exchange of knowledge in such an iconic global brand”

By taking advantage of the advanced natural language processing with data from multiple systems, Hoppy eliminates the need to perform manual searches that consume a lot of time and allow business users to focus on more strategic and greater impact tasks.

With the SAP Datasphere solution, the company now has a unified data model that improves access to information and scalability. In addition, thanks to the capacity of the generative artificial intelligence integrated with SAP BTP, Hoppy allows you to make consultations in natural language, visualize and have a safer access to the data.

Andre Van Schuijlenburg, director of Global Process Management at Heineken, commented: “Building and integrating agents is not always an easy way. There is still much to discover, but as we say in the team: Don’s Worry, Be Hoppy!”

Since Hoppy joined platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Heineken has seen how the time that knowledge workers need to recover information has been reduced from 15 minutes to only 1. With the capabilities of SAP Business AI in the hoppy nucleus, Heineken is also exploring the automation of repetitive tasks to improve business processes and expedite communication and decision making. In addition, by having unified vision of the data, Hoppy can now detect the lack of the cost center in purchase orders, promoting efficiency and precision.
