Pokémon Pokopia is an undisputed hit on Nintendo Switch 2. The game enjoys unflagging popularity and other brands want to ride this wave. The Japanese branch of IKEA announced special events with lots of surprises.

Pokémon Pokopia sold more than 2.2 million copies in just a few days and remains at the top of sales charts. Nintendo can talk about a hit, and one that shows the brand a new, very promising direction. Although the plot in Pokopia is rudimentary, its most important element – building – unlocks unlimited creativity in people. Social media is full of screenshots and videos from players who have already devoted dozens and sometimes hundreds of hours to building their dream home. settlements for Pokémon. Functional subway? We also have amusement parks and buildings from other productions recreated in the game world, such as the police station in Racoon City from Resident Evil. Is it possible? Yes.

They are the most creative group of players in Pokémon Pokopia, and it is the constructions created by fans from this country that attract the most attention. It is therefore not surprising that it was in Japan that other brands noticed the huge potential in this title. And it’s as big as IKEA, which probably needs no introduction.

IKEA and Pokémon Pokopia join forces. There has never been such cooperation before

What can fans count on? IKEA now invites you to visit their “Cloud Island”, a separate island that you can visit in Pokémon Pokopia after purchasing “Mysterious Goggles” – special goggles that allow you to look at islands created by other players. Travel to IKEA Island is possible after entering the code JUSHObut you must remember to have a Nintendo Online subscription – without it, the game’s online functions are severely limited. What’s waiting for you on IKEA Island? Specially designed IKEA-style rooms with Pikachu and Snorlax.

However, a virtual island inspired by the IKEA range is just the beginning. IKEA in Japan will organize the so-called stamp rally, i.e. collecting stamps. During the promotional campaign, visitors will be presented with challenges and 7 stamps to collect, and the card on which they are collected is a souvenir that can be taken home. What’s more, participants of the IKEA FAMILY program will receive a special IKEA Pokémon Pokopia sticker when shopping for 5,000 yen (approx. PLN 116) and will be able to take part in a special lottery with attractive prizes:

  • set of six stickers

And that’s not the end, because IKEA has a surprise for visitors to their restaurant. Desserts, including popular cakes, will be decorated with motifs from IKEA Pokémon Pokopia. Fans will receive paper forks with images of Ditto and other game characters. There will also be places for taking photos near the IKEA restaurant. IKEA knows how to capitalize on the interest in Pokémon Pokopia, and the event is part of the brand’s 20th anniversary celebration in Japan.
