Ibiza-based company Impress has increased its printing production capacity thanks to its alliance with Canon. The Japanese multinational’s advanced printing technology, together with its local presence in Ibiza, has boosted Impress’ services.
When Impress was founded in 2019, its primary goal was to reduce costs for the Ibiza-based nightlife group by producing promotional materials such as flyers and posters in-house. However, the company experienced rapid growth, going from two to 14 employees, as demand for its services increased.
Canon’s support network in Spain is key for Impress
As Impress expanded, the company faced difficulties with its previous supplier, particularly regarding the availability of technical support in Ibiza.
In response to these challenges, Impress decided to partner with Canon, acquiring several of its large-format printing equipment. According to Pablo Gauna, founder of Impress, Canon’s experience and technical presence on the island allowed the company to focus its efforts on its customers, especially during the peak summer season, without worrying about technical issues.

Implementation of Canon equipment adapted to Impress’ needs
To kick off the collaboration, the Impress team travelled to Canon’s showroom in the Netherlands, where they opted for the Canon imagePRESS V1350, a high-capacity digital printer that offers advanced automation and versatility in paper types. In addition, the imagePRESS V700 was added as additional support, improving both image quality and job accuracy, which pleasantly surprised Gauna.
Impress subsequently acquired the Arizona 1360 XTF, a six-colour flatbed printer ideal for printing textures and featuring a vacuum system that increases efficiency in repetitive jobs. José María Susierra, head of the large format area at Impress, explained that this system saves time and reduces the need for constant supervision.
To further diversify its offering, Impress added the Colorado 1630, a roll-to-roll printer with UVgel technology, which enabled it to speed up production and free up human resources for other tasks. Gauna highlighted that this machine, thanks to its FLX Finish system, offers the possibility of combining glossy and matte finishes in a single pass, which is key for the rapid production of promotional posters in Ibiza, where immediacy is crucial.
