Services with audiobooks – 2025
Audiobooks ceased to be only a “alternative to books” – in 2025 it is a main form of contact with literature for many people. We absorb biographies, detective stories, romances and guides on headphones. The platform market with audiobooks is getting more and more diverse – each offers something different and tries to convince themselves with unique functions, price or super -productions. Which one to choose? The answer, as usual, sounds “it depends”, but free trial periods certainly help in making decisions. Here are the most interesting platforms with audiobooks available in Poland in 2025.
Audioteka Klub – a Polish giant that holds the level
If someone has a monopoly in Poland on “Premium audiobooks”, this is an audioteka. And there is not much exaggeration. With over 40,000 titles and over 120 super -productions (read: actors, effects, assembly like from a movie) is a service that focuses on quality, not on quantity. For fans of Polish titles are paradise – news, classic, fact literature and lots of books that you won’t find anywhere else.
The “to start” plan for PLN 17.90 per month for the first 3 months is an opportunity that is difficult to resist. Then the price increases to PLN 29.90, but it is still competitive. However, it should be remembered that not all items in Audioteka resources are available to the club members paying the subscription. Some items need to be bought separately, except for subscription.
Storytel – a Swedish mix for hungry content
Storytel is such an IKEA among audio platforms (the website also comes from Sweden) – everything looks neat, it works smoothly and we have a large selection here. However, not everything is in Polish. We have a mix of ebooks and audiobooks in various languages. The website boasts that its resources are half a million items. There is a lot to choose from, and the application is really good.
For PLN 22.90 (BASIC plan) or PLN 39.90 (UNLIMITED Plan) we get access to a really solid library. For this Family subscription for a maximum of 3 people for PLN 59.90, separate profiles and a lot of books for children – ideal for families or friends in which everyone has different taste.
Legimi – a paradise for readers, less for listeners
If listening is only an addition to reading for you – Legimi can be a hit. He is a veteran of the Polish market with a giant catalog of ebooks and a quite decent audiobook base. However, this must be said directly – audiobooks are not a priority here.
We pay PLN 54.99 per month for the full package (reading + listening without limit). Currently, the price is reduced to PLN 49.99. For this amount we get access to Legimi on 3 devices. Every month, PLN 10 returns to us, which we can spend on titles available outside the subscription.
Legimi is a service for people who cannot decide whether they like to read or listen more. Personally, I’m not a big fan of the Legimi interface, but it’s better than just a few years ago.
Bookbeat – Swedish minimalism with a limit
Bookbeat is a proposal for those who know how much they listen to. You pay here for hours. 20, 40 or 100 hours per month – for PLN 22.99, PLN 29.99 and 34.99, respectively. Interestingly, the website does not offer an unlimited option. This can scare away people who drive a lot and passionately absorb a whole series of detective stories, but for less active users it is an honest system.
The application is fast quite intuitive. It allows you to create family accounts and listen to many devices at once. Catalog? Smaller than the competition, especially when it comes to Polish super -production, but it is properly diverse and regularly updated.
Bookbeat is an option for people who listen to “head” and do not want to pay for something they will not use.
Empik Go – the bookstore network attacks the audio market
Empik GO is a player who has been using the strength of the brand existing in Poland for decades. The subscriptions are three: GO standard (3 audiobooks per month for PLN 24.99) Go Smart (unlimited listening for PLN 39.99) and a family offer for 2 mobile devices and a Kindl (PLN 49.99). The platform has its own exclusive content – original audio series, radio plays, adaptations – which can be its ace in the sleeve.
Who is Empik Go for? I think that the target group is similar to all the competitors mentioned earlier.
Less known but noteworthy
Nexto Premium – cheap, but for pieces
Don’t you feel like subscription? Nexto Premium is something for you. For PLN 19.90 a year you get a 40% discount on all audiobooks on the platform (bought individually). An ideal solution for people who do not listen regularly, but want to have something “for” without obligations.
Woblink – here also for arts
Woblink does not scream with commercials, but it has one of the largest catalogs of audiobooks in Poland – to buy for pieces, without any subscriptions. Good for traditionalists who prefer to have an audio book than to pay a subscription.
Free reading – classic for free
You don’t want to pay for the content? Free reading is offered by over 1000 free audiobooks – mainly classic, but well realized. They work on YouTube and this is where audio productions publish.
Public Libraries – the option we forget about
Few people know that many public libraries give access to Legimi or Empik Go for free – just sign up for the library and pick up the code. It is worth asking before we spend PLN 40 a month.
Which service with audiobooks should you choose?
There is no one good answer. If you care about a large audio content library, I would recommend testing all discussed platforms as part of a free trial period. I would pay attention to 3 things. First of all – the availability of titles. There are those that we find on each platforms, but some authors have exclusive relief for one. The second thing is the convenience of using the application. With intensive use and frequent browsing of available content, etc., how the platform is constructed, it makes a huge difference. Especially if we use the smartphone version. The last issue is the VS subscription. Buying individual books at promotional prices. It is worth asking two questions here: how often do you listen to audiobooks and whether you often go back to the same titles.
In 2025, the choice is huge, but this is good news – everyone will find something for themselves. It’s worth just knowing what you are looking for.
