The financial institution ING has incorporated a new anti-fraud transfer prevention service that allows customers to be alerted in real time when the system detects signs of a possible scam.
Thanks to this new layer of anti-fraud protection, when a client of the entity initiates a transfer and there are signs that could indicate fraud – due to patterns associated with known scams – the bank activates an anti-fraud security alert before the operation is completed. The notice is displayed in a clear and simple way, explaining the potential risk and reminding you of the main warning signs within your anti-fraud strategy.
From that moment on, the client can decide whether to continue the operation or stop it using the specific button enabled to block the action. In addition, the system incorporates several consecutive warnings to ensure that the decision is made in a conscious and informed manner, thus reinforcing the entity’s anti-fraud approach.
Comprehensive anti-fraud protection ecosystem
ING continues to advance its commitment to ING-level Security for the digital well-being of all its clients by offering useful and simple tools within its anti-fraud ecosystem. The new functionality joins the set of anti-fraud tools and measures that ING has developed to strengthen the protection of its clients.
The bank has already incorporated solutions such as SOS Fraud, which allows cards, passwords and accesses to be immediately blocked if unauthorized movements are suspected; the Who is calling me? service, already used by more than 260,000 customers to check if a call really comes from ING; dynamic transfer limits, which offer greater control over the money being sent; and the implementation of RCS verified messaging, which protects communications against identity theft attempts as part of its global anti-fraud strategy.
With the incorporation of the intelligent transfer alert system, ING reinforces this comprehensive anti-fraud approach, combining advanced technology, active prevention and awareness at the key moment to boost the digital well-being of its clients and help them operate with greater peace of mind in an increasingly complex environment.
Secure communications with RCS and anti-fraud measures
Additionally, within its anti-fraud measures, the ING Spain and Portugal entity began months ago to use a new verified messaging technology to communicate with its clients, replacing traditional SMS. The adoption of RCS (Rich Communication Services) technology makes it possible to protect the communication channel, ensure the traceability of messages and guarantee that the sender is really the bank, reducing the risk of fraud due to identity theft and reinforcing anti-fraud protection.
Through RCS, messages sent by ING are shown associated with a verified corporate profile. In this way, customers can clearly verify that the communication really comes from the bank, interact with ING through a more secure channel and reduce the risk of phishing, spam or fraudulent links, within a technological framework clearly oriented towards anti-fraud security.

Implementing this technology does not require customers to download additional applications or modify the settings of their devices. The experience of using the App is kept simple and transparent, incorporating an additional layer of anti-fraud security in normal communications.
The adoption of verified messaging is part of ING’s commitment to digital well-being and adds to other tools already available, such as SOS Fraud, which allows passwords, cards and accesses to be immediately blocked in the event of a possible scam, or Who is calling me?, the service that helps confirm if a call really comes from the bank, thus consolidating its global anti-fraud strategy.
