Cloud services provider IONOS has announced the launch of a new pricing model for its public cloud with “Cloud Savings Plans”, an initiative aimed at improving control of cloud costs. Thanks to these plans, customers who contract for a period of one or three years will be able to reduce their cloud infrastructure costs by up to 47%, with guaranteed prices throughout the period and without depending on market fluctuations.
Cloud Savings Plans allow companies to flexibly use contracted resources, such as CPU cores and RAM, within the framework of their contract, thus optimizing cloud costs without giving up operational agility. For example, it is possible to reserve a fixed amount of resources and distribute them as needed among different virtual machines or Kubernetes clusters, keeping cloud costs under control even in complex environments.
Combination with the pay-per-use model
Resources can be adjusted at any time without losing the financial benefits of the plan, facilitating more efficient management of cloud costs. In addition, this model can be combined with the pay-per-use system, which makes it possible to balance stable workloads with more variable ones and adapt cloud costs to the reality of the business.
“Optimizing cloud costs should not mean losing flexibility,” says Achim Weiss, CEO of IONOS. “Businesses need solutions that are reliable, competitive in price and offer long-term security. With our Savings Plans, customers can design their workloads flexibly and, at the same time, reduce cloud costs, without being tied to a single provider.”
Savings Plans Modality
With Savings Plans, it is possible to take advantage of production systems, data analytics and Kubernetes clusters in a calculable way and on more advantageous conditions in the long term, contributing to more predictable planning of cloud costs. The new pricing models can be selected directly from Data Center Designer, the IONOS Cloud management interface.
