ISACA has launched two new pioneering certifications in artificial intelligence (AI): TOadvanced in AI Audit (AAIA) and Advanced in AI Security Management (AAISM)with the aim of preparing audit and security professionals for new technological challenges.
These credentials, presented within the framework of «ISACA Europe Conference 2025» in London, respond to an urgent market need, the rapid adoption of AI is outpacing the capacity of existing policies and controls, creating a critical gap in governance, auditing and cybersecurity.
And, according to a survey cited by the organization, the 51% of IT professionals believes that AI systems represent the greatest current risk, while 81% identify misinformation as the most significant threat arising from its use.
AAIA: The first advanced certification in AI auditing
The AAIA (Advanced in AI Audio) is presented as the world’s first advanced AI audit certificationdesigned for auditors and IT advisors seeking to adapt their professional profile to the new environment driven by Artificial Intelligence.
Unlike traditional credentials, the AAIA validates competencies for:assess risks, ensure regulatory compliance, advise on the strategic use of AI and ensure that its implementation contributes to business objectives. Candidates must have a certification CISA or with equivalent credentials (CIA, US CPA, ACCA, Canadian CPA, Australian CPA or Japanese CPA) and experience in IT auditing or consulting.
The certification is structured in three fundamental domains: AI Governance and Risk, AI operationsand AI Audit Tools and Techniques.

AAISM: Advanced security in artificial intelligence environments
For its part, the AAISM (Advanced in AI Security Management) is the first certification focused exclusively on AI safety management. Its objective is to train those responsible for cybersecurity to Protect business ecosystems from emerging threats derived from the use of generative and automated models.
The transformative potential of AI comes with new risks. In fact, the 60% of professionals claims to be very or extremely concerned about malicious use of generative AI, such as creating hack attacks phishing more sophisticated.
Professionals with certifications CISM either CISSP and experience in security or technological consulting are the ideal candidates to obtain this accreditation. The areas of action covered by the AAISM include Governance and Management of AI Programs, AI Technologies and Controlsand AI Risk Management.
Certification and global recognition process
Both ISACA artificial intelligence certifications They are recognized worldwide and provide high-value accreditation for professionals who wish to strengthen their credibility in the areas of auditing, compliance and cybersecurity.
The certification process consists of four stages: training, registration, exam scheduling and obtaining the credential. Exams, available on a rolling basis, are administered through authorized PSI centers or via remote proctoring.
The exam prices are $459 for ISACA members and $599 for non-memberswith an additional fee of $50 for the issuance of the certificate.
