The Valencian company Jumel Alimentaria, specialized in the manufacture of jams, jams, syrups and sauces, has taken a decisive step towards the digitalization of its business processes with the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. With an annual turnover of 12 million euros and a staff of 65 employees, Jumel has established itself as a benchmark for its firm commitment to quality and customer service, which has allowed them to maintain long-term relationships with more than 100 active clients.

The company, which offers both private label and manufacturer brand products, has stood out for its ability to adapt to market needs and offer personalized products, key to its continued success.

ERP system modernization

Before contacting Aitana, Jumel Alimentaria operated with an obsolete ERP system hosted on local servers. This situation generated significant challenges related to information management, data security and lack of integration between departments, making it difficult to make strategic decisions in a sector as demanding as the agri-food sector.

“The ERP system we were working with did not meet our current needs. We had been working with it for more than 20 years and, although it was very advanced at the time, it was no longer sufficient for the challenges we faced,” says José Llorca, head of IT at Jumel Alimentaria. After analyzing different options, Aitana recommended implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, a cloud-based ERP that has improved data reliability and optimized Jumel Alimentaria’s operational and financial processes. The integration with Power BI and Office 365 has provided a clearer business vision and has enhanced internal collaboration, in addition to managing data in real time. The move to the cloud has eliminated local servers, reducing costs and increasing scalability and security.

The implementation has had a positive impact on all departments: processes, previously manual and disorganized, are now carried out in a more agile and efficient manner, reducing errors and waiting times. Integration with mobile devices has facilitated access to information from anywhere, increasing operational flexibility and team productivity.

“The ability to access data in real time, directly from the tablets we have in the plant, has completely changed the way we work. Before we had to wait until production orders were closed to record consumption and finished products. Now everything is updated on the spot,” says César García, Production Manager at Jumel Alimentaria.

The optimization in inventory management has also been notable: the purchasing department now has a clear vision of the needs for raw materials and finished products, which facilitates planning and stock management.

Finally, Jumel Alimentaria highlights the close and efficient collaboration with Aitana throughout the implementation process. “Working with the Aitana team has been very easy. They have shown great commitment and understanding of our needs. From the initial analysis to implementation, they were always available to resolve any questions. The communication has been fluid and the support constant, which has made the entire process much simpler than we expected,” says José Llorca, head of IT.
