In a constantly changing logistics environment, DHL has launched the 7th edition of its Logistics Trend Radara biennial report that examines and highlights the main factors that will influence the future of the logistics industry. The document highlights 40 key trends, divided into 17 social and corporate trends and 23 technological trends. It also sets out the timelines for their adoption and assesses the impact they will have on the global logistics sector.
Among the most relevant conclusions, it is noted that, although innovations such as robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT) and digital transformation continue to be fundamental for logistics, artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability emerge as the most critical factors to shape the future of the sector in the next decade.

AI and sustainability: key trends in the evolution of logistics
The relevance of AI The scope of AI for the logistics sector has expanded significantly, as reflected in this edition of the study, which also highlights five key factors: generative AI, AI ethics, audio AI, computer vision and advanced analytics. Together, they all aim to transform logistics processes by leveraging sophisticated analytics and data generation tools, improving human-machine interaction through voice and sound analysis, automating the interpretation of visual data and automatically generating new content based on already learned patterns. Considerations are also outlined on the ethical implications of the technological leap towards AI.
On the other hand, within the sustainability cluster two priority areas stand out: infrastructures of renewable energy and sustainable fuelsboth essential to reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency and enabling sustainable operations throughout the entire supply chain.
