Liferay has announced the general availability of Liferay Digital Sales Room (DSR), a new solution that offers B2B sales teams a self-service model to collaborate with buyers and accelerate deal closure. Natively integrated into Liferay DXP, it allows sales teams to create virtual spaces with shoppers without resorting to external applications or compromising security.

In B2B organizations, sales processes are often managed through a mix of email threads, shared folders, and individual tools. As a result, proposals, contracts, success stories, and price offers are scattered across multiple systems. This fragmentation becomes even more difficult to manage as more people join the negotiation, since each one seeks different information at different stages of the decision.

Liferay DSR solves this problem by providing sales teams with a single, organized space to manage the operation and keep all interested parties joining the buying group aligned, preventing buyers from having to piece together information on their own.

Autonomy for commercial equipment powered by Liferay DXP

Sales teams can create a custom, governed microsite for each deal themselves, without depending on the IT department or waiting for the marketing team. Because Liferay DSR runs on top of Liferay DXP, each room inherits the content, customer data, permissions and governance that the platform already offers, ensuring maximum agility without giving up corporate control.

A collaborative space for every negotiation

Salespeople can use templates to lay out a room, then add approved presentations, case studies, demos, and financial proposals as the deal progresses. Project managers at the buying company can share the space with other members of their organization, expanding the purchasing group within a single governed space so that everyone works with the same up-to-date materials.

Real-time visibility

Liferay DSR analyzes in real time how shoppers interact with shared content, identifying what materials are viewed or downloaded and by whom. This visibility allows representatives to prioritize follow-up, detect the incorporation of new interlocutors into the purchasing process, and more accurately evaluate the status of each business opportunity.

“B2B sales teams have had to choose between fragmented one-off tools or creating a sales experience from scratch,” says Julia Molano, Director of Product Management at Liferay. “With Liferay DSR, salespeople have the autonomy to create a customized, governed microsite for each deal, facilitating collaboration with buyers and reducing closing times.”

“The majority of digital sales floor vendors we evaluated come from the sales enablement or revenue enablement space,” says Michelle Morgan, director of Sales Force Performance and Productivity Research at IDC. “Liferay’s origins in the field of digital commerce and its focus on complex and regulated industries provide a different starting point than is usual in this market.”

Liferay Digital Sales Room is now generally available as an add-on for Liferay DXP, and includes a 60-day free trial with full access.
