ManageEngine has released an update to its IT analytics platform, Analytics Plus. The new version 6.0 incorporates Spotlight, a system powered by artificial intelligence that offers contextual recommendations, aimed at detecting inefficiencies in IT operations and proposing strategies to correct them.

The “State of Analytical Engineering 2023” report showed that one of the biggest challenges for almost 50% of the executives surveyed is the time it takes them to obtain useful information for their business. Spotlight helps reduce that time, allowing IT directors and CIOs to quickly analyze key IT metrics and find solutions to operational problems. With this new functionality, Analytics Plus integrates intelligence for decision making, thus addressing one of the most common limitations in traditional analysis software.

For example, Analytics Plus can correlate data such as the age of IT assets, frequency of failures, and average repair time to suggest the optimal time to replace an asset, thereby optimizing its useful life and equipment performance. This update reinforces ManageEngine’s commitment to improving IT operations through intelligent, data-driven solutions.

“Current analytics tools allow you to analyze any type of data, but they lack the context necessary to make that data truly useful,” says Samantha Hall, Service Delivery Director at Leathams Ltd. She also highlights that analysts often lack the deep knowledge of the IT environment, making it difficult to convert results into effective decisions for the company.

Analytics Plus 6.0 by ManageEngine

The Analytics Plus AI engine examines common IT processes and identifies necessary adjustments to achieve better results. Spotlight acts as a virtual assistant, continually identifying inefficiencies and proposing corrective actions, ensuring organizations resolve their issues quickly and efficiently.

“Companies can no longer afford to waste hours examining data to make decisions. They need immediate solutions that generate tangible results,” says Rakesh Jayaprakash, product manager at ManageEngine. He also notes that while many tools promise automation, Spotlight focuses on bridging the gap between strategic decision-making and immediate action.

Delving into the root of the problems

Beyond making quick decisions, CIOs need tools to validate whether their strategies are working. To do this, ManageEngine has introduced the Root Cause Analysis functionality, which allows you to automatically identify the factors that influence specific trends. This allows us to check whether the decisions are producing the expected effects.

For example, when implementing self-healing tools for network issues, this feature can evaluate increased network uptime and point to reduced incidents as the main factor behind this improvement.

Auto-ML models without the need for code

Analytics Plus version 6.0 also makes it easier to create machine learning (ML) models without the need to code. With this capability, IT teams can develop predictive models directly with the data they already manage, democratizing the use of these advanced technologies.

This allows you to build custom models to predict, for example, the probability that a support ticket will be escalated, based on various factors. By building models from first-party data, predictions are more accurate and relevant to the specific needs of the organization.

Centralized IT metrics library

Also new in version 6.0 is the unified IT metrics library, which provides a centralized view of all key performance indicators (KPIs) in a single interface. This breaks down data silos between different IT tools and allows organizations to quickly access any metrics they need to track, facilitating data-driven decision making.
