The Spanish technology company Orizon, specialized in ensuring the continuous improvement of the performance of systems and applications of large companies, has begun a transformation of its business model to expand the sales of its technology, its own, unique and now very close to the financial environment, to any sector of activity, both inside and outside Spain.

The company, which has created an external Advisory Board to design this plan, contemplates a five-year strategy and in 2030 expects to obtain revenues above 12 million euros, 75% of which will come from license sales, multiply its operating result (EBIT) by 10 and have consolidated a base of more than 60 clients.

Orizon, which made this announcement during the fourth edition of its annual performance meeting, held annually on the island of Tabarca, has as its fundamental objective to go from being a service company to a product company, which will require redesigning its organization, redefining the functions of its operations and service areas and scaling its commercial capacity by creating a network of certified partners.

From a service company to a product company

The transformation that Orizon assumes from services to the sale of licenses involves the reconversion of the BOA tool, which brings together all the company’s knowledge, optimizing the performance of critical systems, in a single platform called Orizon Platformwith a series of associated services. The new objective of this platform, of which there is already a prototype and which the company plans to have completed during the first quarter of 2027, is that both partners certified in its technology, and even the clients themselves, can operate it autonomously.

Likewise, the company also wants to position Orizon Platform as the first of a new category of software, which has been called SEM (Software Efficiency Management), focused on continuously analyzing the real behavior of software in production, identifying inefficiencies, recommending specific optimization actions and measuring the savings and improvements generated for the organization.

According to Ángel Pineda, CEO of Orizon, “For years we have demonstrated that software efficiency directly impacts the business and significantly reduces costs and improves the availability and level of compliance of the SLAs. Now we bring all that accumulated knowledge into a SaaS platform capable of scaling globally and transforming the way large organizations manage the performance of their systems.”

“The market has begun to assume -Pineda adds—, that infrastructure costs due to software inefficiency cannot continue to grow above the business and that its continuous optimization is as important as cybersecurity or regulatory compliance, which is why the SEM category was born, which we clearly lead.”

Bring performance improvement to any sector and market

The capacity of Orizon technology to improve performance is agnostic to any type of industry and market (it analyzes technological infrastructure parameters and not business ones), which allows the company to face this expansion plan towards any type of organization with complex IT systems and in any sector of activity, both inside and outside Spain. In fact, Orizon already has very advanced business opportunities in new markets such as Italy and Portugal.

Orizon’s five-year plan includes a first phase of three years to build the bases of the new capabilities and two additional years to scale the model, and will be based, as noted before, on obtaining partners certified in the use of its technology. Today, Orizon already has agreements with Minsait (Indra Group) and the consulting firm Nfq and is finalizing collaboration agreements with key suppliers in the development of technological ecosystems.

Creation of an Advisory Council

One of the challenges that Orizon faces in undertaking this new strategy is to combine and maintain the robustness of its current business model with the transformation that the construction of the new one entails. To this end, the company’s Management Committee adds new transversal responsibilities to pilot this transition.

Likewise, Orizon has established an Advisory Board made up of three external professionals: a technology and transformation expert, a technology director, and a product designer, all of them with extensive professional careers. The first is Jorge Nicolau, who has 27 years of experience as a manager at Accenture and, subsequently, has been Director of Technology and Transformation at VidaCaixa and SegurCaixa, entities in which he met Orizon as a supplier.

About Orizon’s new strategy and according to Nicolau, “Orizon is a rare bird in the Spanish technological panorama, a company with its own technology, which always works well and has no equivalent on the market. We are not talking about a promising new idea –Nicolau points out–, but to promote a tool validated for almost two decades by some of the most demanding financial entities in Spain. Therefore –Nicolau ends by saying–, When a strategy rests on such a solid foundation, the question is not whether it will work, but how quickly we will be able to scale it«.
