Salesforce and OpenAI have announced an expansion of their strategic alliance. This collaboration drives a new era of employee and consumer experiences through the integration of Salesforce’s Agentforce 360 ​​platform with OpenAI’s advanced models, including the newly introduced GPT-5.

An alliance that evolves with the market

Salesforce and OpenAI already had a strategic relationship, but this new stage takes interoperability to an unprecedented level. Businesses will be able to directly access the Agentforce 360 ​​platform from ChatGPT to view sales records, analyze customer conversations, or create visualizations in Tableau with just one written instruction. They will also be able to develop custom AI agents and generate intelligent messages within Salesforce’s own ecosystem, all powered by GPT-5.

Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI, explained that this alliance seeks to “improve the interoperability of the tools that users use every day, so that work is more natural and more connected.” For Altman, this is “an important step in the way AI can improve daily workflows thanks to our joint efforts.”

For his part, Marc Benioff, president and CEO of Salesforce, highlighted the direct impact on the customer experience. “As consumers, we already get recommendations or instant information from ChatGPT. Now businesses can offer that same intelligence and immediacy. By uniting the world’s most advanced AI with the number one AI CRM, we are creating the foundation for businesses to become agentic businesses,” he said.

Deep integration between platforms

One of the key points of this announcement is the bidirectional integration between both platforms. Agentforce 360 ​​apps will be available within the Apps in ChatGPT program, allowing CRM capabilities, business intelligence, and Tableau visualizations to be incorporated directly into conversations. This novelty offers users a much more organic interaction, where context and action merge into a single environment.

Another notable addition is Agentforce Commerce, which will be integrated with the new Agentic Commerce Protocol. This standard powers instant payments within ChatGPT, facilitating secure and frictionless transactions. In addition, the ChatGPT app for Slack already allows teams to obtain information, write content, or summarize complex conversations without leaving their usual workflow.

Codex, the OpenAI agent specialized in code generation, also comes into play, which can be tagged directly in Slack channels. This way, developers will be able to ask Codex to interpret natural language instructions, identify the appropriate work environment, and return the completed task to the cloud.

On the Salesforce side, the Agentforce 360 ​​platform will incorporate OpenAI’s reasoning, voice and multimodality capabilities, with the ability to choose its models as the default engine within Atlas Reasoning Engine and Prompt Builder.

Direct impact on the relationship with the consumer

This alliance is not limited to the corporate environment. Its objective is to transform the interaction between brands and consumers, offering an instant and intelligent purchasing experience within the conversational channels themselves. Thanks to the integration of Agentforce Commerce with Instant Checkout in ChatGPT, businesses will be able to offer their products directly in conversations, allowing secure and personalized transactions without leaving the application.

A retailer, for example, will be able to display its product catalog on ChatGPT and allow a user to purchase hiking boots with a single click, all without leaving the conversation. This model converts intention into conversion in a single step, reducing purchase times and strengthening the direct relationship between customer and brand.

The future of agentic companies

The vision shared by both companies points towards a new business paradigm, where systems not only respond, but act proactively. The so-called “agent enterprise” is characterized by integrating AI agents capable of reasoning, learning and executing tasks autonomously within each workflow.

This architecture, focused on human-machine collaboration, promises to reduce operating costs, improve process precision and open the door to a new type of business experience based on intelligent action.

Availability

OpenAI models are now available in Agentforce, while the Agentforce 360 ​​and Agentforce Commerce apps within ChatGPT will hit the market later this year.
