At a time when Europe seeks to consolidate its leadership in emerging technologies, Spain is positioned as a key actor with the launch of the ISBE MVP, the Blockchain services infrastructure of Spain. Promoted by the Community of Madrid and Alastria, this project represents more than a technical advance: it involves the creation of a digital ecosystem prepared to transform the economy, administration and society.

Unlike other blockchain initiatives that have emerged in recent years, ISBE is not conceived as a closed and uniform network, but as a flexible structure composed of different interoperable networks and services adaptable to different uses and regulations. Its open architecture will allow SMEs, large companies, public administrations and universities to access advanced resources such as Smart Contracts and APIS without the need to face high technical complexities.

“We are building a trustworthy digital infrastructure that will promote a more competitive and resilient business fabric,” says Miguel Ángel Domínguez, president of Alastria. “The different cases of use and functionalities of ISBE will allow reinforcing the digital sovereignty of Europe, promoting the competitiveness of companies, improving public services and generating wealth and technological employment.”

Blockchain with legal seal and technical guarantees

One of the aspects that distinguishes Isbe compared to other networks available is its design focused on regulatory compliance from the first moment. The integration of requirements such as the GDPR and the DAS2 regulations, both at the technical level and of governance, guarantees the confidence and legal validity of the developments that are integrated into this infrastructure.

In addition, the MVP presented includes the deployment of a robust architecture under the model Infrastructure as code(IAC), observability systems with metrics and real -time dashboards, and validated nodes distributed in different cloud availability areas to improve their resilience and availability.

Madrid, starting point towards European leadership

Although its scope is national, Isbe is born with a strong impulse from Madrid. From the capital, it is projected as a platform that will position Spain among the first countries of the world to have a fully operational, functionally and regulatory blockchain infrastructure.

This approach places the country in an avant -garde position, offering citizens, companies and public administrations a tool to digitize processes, reduce costs and develop new digital services with total legal certainty.

A bridge between innovation and digital governance

ISBE is part of the Technological Specialization Territorial Networks program, framed in the recovery, transformation and resilience funded by the European Union-Next Generation EU. Its objective transcends simple technological innovation: it is about building a confidence network that consolidates European digital sovereignty and facilitates a more intelligent and autonomous economy.
