Last Tuesday, the annual convention of the Oracle Users Association in Spain, SPOUG, was held, where prominent Oracle specialists met. Albert Triola, Country Leader of Oracle in Spain, opened the event by stating that Oracle is at its best and that the next ten years will be exciting.

Triola backed up his claim with data, mentioning that Oracle’s cloud business grew 43% in the last quarter. He also highlighted the flexibility Oracle offers its customers, allowing them to choose their own cloud path. In addition, he assured that customers who prefer on-premise solutions will receive support and support for at least ten years.

Another major announcement was the creation of 2,000 data centers over the next five years and the expansion of cloud regions, with three already operational and more to come as needed.

Francesc Mas, President of SPOUG, highlighted the importance of the changes that Oracle is experiencing and introduced Javier Negro, IT Infrastructure Supervisor at SkyDance Animation, who explained how Oracle technology supports his animation company.

Oscar García, manager of SPOUG, thanked the clients, speakers and sponsors for making the SPOUG24 event possible, which featured multiple sessions on Oracle Cloud Technology, Oracle Cloud Applications, GenAI, Oracle JD Edwards, NetSuite Cloud ERP and Oracle E-Business Suite.

The night before the event, the annual SPOUG members’ dinner was held, where the SPOUG Awards were presented. Awards included Famatel + Quistor’s JDE to OCI Migration Technology Project of the Year, and Original BUFF + GOLIVE’s Joy App Application Project of the Year. Paola Simonian was named ambassador of the year.
