Telefónica Tech has announced an alliance with three new strategic partners (Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, QCentroid and Multiverse Computing) to continue evolving its comprehensive proposal in quantum computing and its integration with advanced artificial intelligence technologies. This new alliance reinforces the company’s already consolidated positioning in quantum computing and allows us to promote a European and sovereign ecosystem that helps the public and private sector in Spain and the rest of Europe to solve business challenges with greater agility.
The combination of quantum computing capabilities and optimized artificial intelligence provides differential value by allowing the development of more compact and efficient AI models, streamlining complex processes and improving training times. This facilitates local deployments of optimized AI models and more efficient architectures, helping to reinforce technological sovereignty and data protection.
Largest portfolio of quantum services
Telefónica Tech has experience in advanced analytics, data governance and deployment of AI solutions, as well as the integration of quantum computing in complex business environments, guaranteeing the scalability, security and industrialization of projects. With these new alliances, the technology company expands its service portfolio with comprehensive quantum hardware capabilities, specialized software, multi-hardware orchestration platforms and professional services.
This expansion of the ecosystem of partners linked to these technologies reinforces Telefónica’s strategy in quantum technologies, which is based on three lines of work: quantum computing, with partners such as IQM, with whom it has worked to deploy one of the first quantum computers in Spain; post-quantum security, led by companies like IBM; and quantum communications, with investments made in companies such as LuxQuanta through Wayra, the investment arm of Telefónica.
Quantum computing and AI applications
The combination of technologies such as quantum computing and AI will allow customers to solve problems more quickly and accurately, as it considerably reduces the time needed to obtain a valid answer and finds more efficient solutions to a large number of possibilities.
Telefónica Tech’s quantum computing and artificial intelligence ecosystem, which brings together its own capabilities with those of Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, QCentroid and Multiverse Computing, as well as IQM, IBM and LuxQuanta, ensures that clients can tackle any project with AI, regardless of its level of complexity, with the necessary expert support at each stage of the deployment.
Some of the most notable projects are:
- Rapid prototyping and proofs of concept (PoC): Customers can validate ideas and use cases in weeks thanks to immediate and unified access to different quantum computing environments, including cloud-available hardware, simulators and advanced algorithm libraries. This simplifies access to the quantum ecosystem, reduces risk and accelerates decision-making, allowing for more agile development and fine-tuning of solutions before production.
- Development of advanced AI solutions and optimization: clients can contract the design and deployment of hybrid models that combine advanced machine learning with quantum computing algorithms, applied to process optimization, advanced simulations and compression of AI models for efficient execution on edge devices (where data is processed close to its origin) or in the cloud.
This expansion of the ecosystem of partners linked to these technologies reinforces Telefónica’s strategy in quantum technologies
- Applied research and operational improvement: the complementarity of the portfolios and the precision provided by quantum computing, together with advanced AI, allow for significant operational improvement in sectors such as banking, energy or logistics.
- Complete support: clients have a multidisciplinary team and access to the best technologies and methodologies on the market to efficiently cover all project phases, from opportunity identification and feasibility analysis to integration, training and continuous support.
