The company Atos has been chosen by Paradores de Turismo de España within the framework of its 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, which contemplates an ambitious digital transformation process, to manage its cloud services and technologies. This digital transformation project reinforces Paradores’ commitment to modernizing its systems and adopting more efficient and sustainable technological models.
Paradores de Turismo de España is known for being a network of public hotels that operates almost a hundred establishments throughout Spain and, since October 2015, also has a franchise in Portugal. Their accommodations are located in unique places, chosen for their historical, artistic or cultural relevance. In this context, digital transformation is conceived as a key lever to preserve this heritage while modernizing hotel management. Of all the establishments, a total of thirty are recognized as assets of cultural interest and another fifteen are located in historical complexes with this same distinction.
Sustainability and excellence in service
The Paradores digital transformation project represents a significant opportunity for the technology sector, as it not only contemplates the adoption of new cloud solutions, but will also contribute to the growth of the digital ecosystem in Spain by promoting collaboration with technology and cloud service providers. The digital transformation, supported by investment in the cloud and solid data governance, will optimize internal processes and drive innovation and personalization of the offer, aligning with global trends in digitalization and sustainability.
According to Jesús Patiño, coordinator of Digital Transformation Projects and Governance at Paradores, “this digital transformation project reinforces our commitment to sustainability and excellence in service. With the implementation of advanced cloud technologies, we will not only improve our operational efficiency, but also the experience we offer to our clients, positioning us as references in the hotel sector.”
“Atos is proud to be the technological partner chosen by Paradores to promote its digital transformation,” said Salvador Folgado, director of Cloud and Infrastructure at Atos in Iberia. Furthermore, he added: “With this project we want to put our experience in sustainable cloud solutions at the service of Paradores’ digital transformation, helping it achieve its strategic objectives, improve its competitiveness and generate a positive impact on its environment.”
Hyperscale cloud technologies
The technological developments contemplated by Atos include pay-as-you-go subscription services for hyperscale cloud technologies and the services of a Cloud Office responsible for managing and governing cloud technologies. This digital transformation will position Paradores as a benchmark in the use of advanced technologies in the hotel sector, improving both its competitiveness and the quality of the services offered to its clients.
The technological model developed by Atos will also contribute to Paradores’ digital transformation having a positive impact on the sustainability of its operations, optimizing the use of energy resources and reducing the environmental impact of its technological infrastructure.
This digital transformation will improve both its competitiveness and the quality of the services offered to its clients.
Likewise, the digital transformation project includes the training of the Paradores team and the establishment of a Cloud Office to manage and govern cloud technologies. Atos will monitor resource consumption and optimize the use of infrastructure, in addition to guaranteeing security and compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR and LOPDGDD). This office will also offer training and support services to Paradores staff, ensuring correct integration and optimal use of the technological capabilities derived from digital transformation.
