According to IDC, the enterprise inkjet market in Western Europe is expected to grow by 7.6% between 2023 and 2028, while the laser printing market will decline by 2.2%.

Following this data, Epson has introduced two new A3 inkjet printers for businesses, expanding its offering and reaffirming its dedication to heatless inkjet technology. Two years ago, the company decided to cease global sales of laser printers by 2026, as part of its commitment to sustainability. Currently, Epson Europe has brought forward this commitment and has stopped selling laser printers in the region.

The choice to focus exclusively on its heatless inkjet technology is due to its greater potential to improve sustainability. Unlike laser printers, which use heat to set toner on paper, heatless inkjet technology requires less energy.

“Our focus remains 100% on Heatless Piezo Inkjet, using our proprietary technology to deliver more efficient and sustainable printing solutions for our partners and customers. This decision implies the end of the sale of laser printers in Europe, two years before our global goal for 2026,” highlights Iryna Narytnyk, product manager at Epson Ibérica.

Inkjet vs laser printers

The latest models added to the range are the A3 WorkForce Pro EP-C7000DW and WorkForce Pro EM-C7100DWF printers. With a speed of 25ppm, these printers are an energy and cost-efficient alternative to laser printers, ideal for small offices and workgroups requiring high-quality A3 color printing.

High-yield inks and high-capacity paper options make these devices require little intervention, reducing downtime and increasing productivity. In addition, the duplex function and low power consumption help save costs and resources.
