The proliferation of multicloud hybrid environments has triggered a deep transformation in the way companies manage their networks. The latest Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) study, carried out in collaboration with Efficientip, reveals that more than half of the organizations that have adopted a strategy based on DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM) have experienced a significant improvement in their operational efficiency.
With a growing dependence on multiple public and private clouds, those responsible for infrastructure are forced to rethink their management models. Lack of visibility, fragmentation of tools and IP addressing conflicts are complicating the administration of increasingly complex environments.
“The growth of the Multicloud environment has surpassed the tools that many companies use to manage it. Without a solid base such as the DDI, it is impossible to maintain the safety, performance and efficiency required by digital businesses,” says Diego Solís, Sales Iberia Iberia & Latam of Efficientip. Its diagnosis is based on overwhelming data: 60% of organizations acknowledge facing difficulties related to the security, performance or administration of their cloud resources.
The study places DDI as a fundamental piece to orchestrate modern networks. 40% of respondents consider this indispensable approach to manage Multicloud environments, and those who have opted for a unified network solution (Network Source of Truth, or NSOT) triple their probabilities of success. However, only 27% have taken that step.
A report reveals how the DDI is positioned as a central axis to guarantee the safety, efficiency and control of distributed network environments
Hybrid Multicloud: Less risks, more automation
In addition to improving visibility and control, DDI is allowing companies to reduce threats and accelerate processes. According to the report, 54% of the organizations that use it have decreased their exposure to cybersecurity risks, while 44% have managed to advance in the automation of their network infrastructure.
Despite these advances, a structural obstacle persists: the lack of collaboration between network equipment and those responsible for cloud environments. Only 37% of companies consider that there is effective coordination, being the main friction points the design of security policies, systems integration and incident response.
Reduction of costs and impulse to innovation
The benefits of the unified approach are not limited to the technical field. Companies that have invested in advanced DDI solutions also report improvements at the financial and strategic level. 45% have managed to reduce operating costs and mitigate regulatory compliance risks, while 42% indicate a greater capacity to innovate in their processes.
“The DDI is no longer an auxiliary tool: it is the basis for climbing successfully in the cloud,” concludes Solís. “This report validates the urgent need for unified and automated management that allows companies to adapt to the speed of the digital business.”
