For many older readers, the sight of a computer enclosed in a keyboard housing evokes immediate associations with iconic machines of the 1980s, such as Commodore 64 or Amiga 500.
However, HP decided to move this nostalgic form into a completely new era by presenting the model at CES HP EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC. This device, honored with the CES 2026 Innovation Award, is the world’s first full-fledged AI computer integrated directly with the keyboard, which aims to completely redefine the modern workplace.
AMD Ryzen in a minimalist version
Under the hood of this slim design with a profile of only 12 mm there is an AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processor, which allows for NPU performance exceeding 50 TOPS. Thanks to this, this unique Copilot+ PC-certified desktop can handle the most demanding local artificial intelligence tasks without any lag. HP focuses on mobility and minimalism, offering equipment weighing only 750 grams – less than half the weight of a traditional laptop, making it the lightest AI computer in the company’s portfolio.
The idea behind EliteBoard G1a results from the observation of changing work styles. According to the HP 2025 Work Relationship Index report, less than half of employees believe that current technology fits their style of operation. The new HP PC aims to change this, offering a modular and personalized approach to the workspace. The device is equipped with high-quality dual microphones and speakers optional built-in battery and intelligent power management systems such as HP Smart Sense and AMD Auto State Management allow for smooth operation in almost any conditions. The whole thing can be instantly connected to any monitor, saving valuable space on your desk.
Despite its compact and slightly retro form, the HP EliteBoard G1a is a machine designed with the highest standards of business security in mind. The device uses HP Wolf Security for Business solutions, which provide hardware protection against attacks on firmware and, most importantly, against emerging threats from quantum computers. The entire structure is protected not only digitally but also physically thanks to a locking cable, making this mobile desktop ready for the challenges of today’s work environment.
