Nintendo fans are waiting for any official information about the successor of the Nintendo Switch console. The company has just announced new equipment, but it’s probably not what everyone was waiting for.

That the successor to Nintendo Switch is being createdthere is no doubt. Nintendo confirmed this a few months ago, while asking for patience. The new equipment will be presented, but at the right time. Fans of the Japanese giant are waiting for any information and during the next Nintendo Direct presentations they are counting on this moment. However, Nintendo cools down the emotions by each time informing in advance not to count on any details related to this equipment. Now something has moved, but no one seems to think that Nintendo is working on anything more. Without any major announcements, fireworks or conferences/presentations, the Japanese showed off their latest device today. And it is an interactive alarm clock called Alarm.

Nintendo Alarm. It’s not Switch 2, but everyone will buy it anyway

According to Nintendo, the Alarmo alarm clock is equipped with advanced and interactive motion sensor technology, which offers, among others: automatic switching off of the alarm when the user gets up or a touchless “snooze” function requiring only a wave of the hand. The device has 35 built-in scenes inspired by five Nintendo titles, including Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4 and Ring Fit Adventure. It is also equipped with two buttons and a knob with a light that makes it easier to control the alarm clock.

Additionally, in addition to the scenes displayed on the screen, there will be sound effects and music known from Nintendo games, which will accompany Alarmo users not only when the alarm clock rings. For example, the Alarm can be set to sound a familiar sound every hour on the hour. It will also remind you to go to sleep. And when you wake up, you will be able to check your sleep statistics.

What’s more, Nintendo already assures that more scenes, sounds and musical pieces that will be available to choose from are being prepared. These will be scenes from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which will be made available as part of a free update.

Nintendo fans from Japan will be able to buy Nintendo Alarmo first – the device will be available tomorrow in My Nintendo Store, as well as in stationary Nintendo stores in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. In the United States and Canada, it will be available via My Nintendo Store to active Nintendo Switch Online users in early 2025 for US$99. It will also be available in other markets in later months.
