Over a decade ago, Nintendo entered an extraordinary partnership with the most famous museum in the world. Everything, however, has its beginning and end, even as pleasant things as this.
Being one of the key people of such valued companies as Nintendo has its advantages. For example, you can contact the most important museum in the world and create unique cooperation with them, making your own dream. Just like Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Super Mario.
This is the end for Nintendo. Louvre will not share them anymore
The creator of the world’s most famous plumbing in the world is known for the fact that his surroundings very much affect the things he creates. Copying in his own garden, he came up with the idea of creating a Pikmin series about small people cope with the human world, and their own animals encouraged to create a unique simulator with evening puppies. Probably cooperation with the most important museum in the world had a similar beginning, it all began with delight.
On Louvre’s official website, the famous museum in the heart of Paris, it was announced that from September 2025, it will no longer be possible to rent unique tools with a digital guide to the museum. Because since 2012, you could rent the Nintendo 3DS console, on which a fantastic game-guide is installed, created by Miyamota himself. After 13 years, however, this surprising cooperation occurs.
Game console changed into an electronic guide to the museum
This is quite forgotten, although extremely interesting. Since 2012, visiting the most famous museum in the world, they have the opportunity to rent a unique gadget for themselves. This is a Nintendo 3DS XL game console (improved version of New Nintendo 3DS XL from 2019), which works like anywhere else within the museum walls. Nintendo also had the opportunity to enter Louvre outside the hours for ordinary visitors and visit every nook and cranny, thanks to which a special Nintendo 3DS Guide: Louvre application was born.
It works surprisingly like no other created by this form. Everyone familiar with this console would be surprised to see how it actually turns into a visual audio-guide, which in real time detects where the person visiting the museum is located and suggested available exhibits. The advantage of this solution was undoubtedly that the author’s passion was also born. For this reason, it was not just a dry program, but a patiently prepared laurel for art, which also helps other enthusiasts. In combination with this 3DS and being in the museum, you can see every detail in this strange mix of real and digital world.
Unique museum, special console edition
The basic console was used for many years, but in 2019 there was a replacement for newer New Nintendo 3DS XL models. They were characterized by the fact that the view of the 3D image was many times more convenient, thanks to the addition of a lens that follows the eyes of users. The museum even has its special edition, which you can’t get anywhere outside of it.
The console received a navy blue color that was not publicly available and a small detail, a conductor identifying logo. What’s more, the game card socket is completely blocked by an additional piece of plastic. After opening, a known sight of two screens will appear, but with each button there are additional pictograms to help navigate the program to anyone who is not particularly familiar with the console. And a treat for people who love details, will be unique to this version of the YXBA buttons system, which did not appear anywhere else in these colors.
3DS navigation is supported by as many as 500 antennas, and the guided application itself is available in as many as seven languages and contains the drum of 700 descriptions of the masterpieces of art, of which 500 is (during the premiere) in the museum itself. The guide to Louvre’ra Nintendo is a souvenir after extraordinary cooperation, which is a bit of a sign of a different era. Today, probably the topic would be arranged by AI, formerly someone just wanted to create something personal and for fun (and earning from it).
