Anker warns – this defective Powerbanka model can stand on fire. The manufacturer must withdraw over a million copies.
There is news from across the ocean that Anker has released a powerbanka market that can threaten the safety of users. A dozen or so self -ignition reports flowed into the company, leading not only to material losses, but also minor damage to the body. If you use this model, stop immediately.
Do you have this powerbank? Anker asks for immediate return
Anker is one of my favorite powerbank producers, but as you can see, even the best are serious slip -ups. The PowerCore 10,000 model probably struggles with a dangerous lithium-ion battery fault, which in the US led to 19 fires. As a result of the incident, users’ property was destroyed, and several injured body injuries – the total damage was valued at $ 60,700.
The defective model (it can be recognized by the A1263 number on the bottom edge) was sold from June 2016 to December 2022, on platforms such as Amazon or eBay. Now Anker has decided to withdraw around 1,158,000 copies, and as part of compensation, it gives clients gift cards or new powerbanks with similar parameters.
Of course, you can say that a dozen or so applications are a fraction of the total number of products issued to the market, but in the case of such devices as chargers or powerbanki there are no jokes. Their users often load their equipment in beds, and heat sources producing heat with bedding or clothes – this is a simple recipe for a tragedy in the case of an efficient device, not to mention accessories with detected factory defect.
If you are not sure if your powerbank belongs to a defective series, you can make sure on Anker’s dedicated page.
