Valencia will have an AI pioneer to help emergency operations in their prediction, preparation and response to natural catastrophes such as the Dana suffered by the region in 2024 and that resulted in more than 200 fatalities. The project, called Lead-Pro and promoted from the European Commission, is already in the test phase in the Valencian town of the Torre, one of the peoples that has suffered the most the effects of the DANA.
Designed with avant-garde, IoT and data analysis technology, Lead-Pro will facilitate communication between police, firefighters, medical equipment and other security forces and bodies, so that they can coordinate better, faster and know what areas to direct their operations. For this, the Valencian Local Police is the first to experience with this AI designed to avoid any type of uncoordination against natural disasters throughout Spain.
The Lead-Pro project is funded by the Horizon of Innovation Action of the European Commission and coordinated by Nuuk Technologies, with Isaca, Iterato and L3CE as key partners. And its ultimate goal is to avoid images such as those lived last November in Valencia, when the Dana caused thousands of houses to end up shattered and with totally flooded roads, delaying rescue work.

Albert Algans, project coordinator of Lead-Pro and CEO of NuukHe pointed out that “Lead-Pro is a pioneer in the integration of the IAT in the disaster management of the forces of the order. Our goal is to provide intelligent decisions of decision-making capabilities in real time that improve safety and efficiency in disaster situations.”
For its part, Chris Dimitriadis, Global Strategy Director of Isacahighlighted the importance of training professionals of order to respond to future catastrophes: “As part of Lead-Pro, Isaca leads efforts to train and certify professionals of the forces of order. Our participation in Lead-Pro not only contributes to creating order agencies with greater digital domain, but also encourages a culture of innovation through the safe adoption of solutions to the e io.”
In addition, José L. Diego, Head of the Division of Innovation and Project Management of the Local Police of ValenciaHe stressed the importance of taking advantage of technology in these cases: “The growing frequency and severity of natural disasters demands new approaches to their management. By participating in the Lead-Pro pilot, the Valencia Police takes a proactive step towards the integration of tools based on the AI in our response strategy.”
Within this pilot project, in Vilna (Lithuania) they will also implement a second test with which the authorities will prove the AI response to a simulated fire in a stadium.
