As AI-powered workloads increasingly move to the edge, it becomes crucial to have greater visibility into data centers in remote locations. In response to this growing need, Vertiv has launched Vertiv Environet Connect. This web-based, cloud-connected platform enables the management and monitoring of distributed data center infrastructure fleets, regardless of equipment manufacturer and with a device-adaptive interface.

Environet Connect makes it easy to deploy and optimize remote Vertiv equipment through mass provisioning and firmware updates of network management cards. Its monitoring capabilities improve oversight of critical infrastructure, issuing customizable alerts based on user needs. The tool covers management of devices such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), rack power distribution units (PDUs), generators and cooling equipment.

“Edge deployments are rapidly increasing and will soon be driven by real-world AI applications such as large language models (LLMs), predictive analytics and autonomous vehicles. While these applications currently operate in data centers, it is anticipated that they will soon move to the edge to reduce latency and avoid processing bottlenecks,” said Wesley Lim, Vice President of Digital Solutions and Software at Vertiv.

Environet Connect is available to both direct customers and partners offering managed services. The platform is designed to accommodate a wide range of users and supports multi-tenancy environments, making it easy to use for both partners and end customers.

Vertiv provides a variety of services to enhance the Environet Connect experience, including software training, customer support, and asset management. These services include different levels of assistance, ranging from technical support and firmware updates to device provisioning and remote monitoring.

Vertiv recently introduced its full line of solutions for High Performance Computing (HPC) deployments and Artificial Intelligence applications under the name Vertiv 360AI. This offering covers power, cooling, enclosures, full lifecycle services and advanced digital management. In addition, Environet Connect serves as a unified interface to integrate solutions within the AI ecosystem.
