WatchGuard has acquired the services of Perimeters.io (Perimeters), a cloud application security provider that offers visibility and control over every application, identity and configuration under a unified platform. With this acquisition, the company aims to expand protection beyond its endpoint and network solutions, strengthening its comprehensive approach to security. The terms of the operation have not been made public.
At the same time, the company announces the availability of WatchGuard Cloud Detection and Response (CloudDR). Powered by Perimeters’ unique security technology, the solution delivers continuous visibility, integrated detection and automated response across cloud applications through a single multi-tenant platform, designed specifically for MSP operations, with a clear focus on operational security.
Avoid cloud configuration errors
Designed with AI at the forefront, WatchGuard CloudDR uncovers cloud and identity threats using modern Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) technology, improves security by revealing configuration errors that can lead to breaches, and exposes hidden risks related to shadow AI and shadow IT, known to be extremely difficult to detect and virtually impossible to manually manage at scale without advanced security solutions.
It is the first and only offering in the cloud security market that addresses these three risks together in a single platform. By incorporating Perimeters’ technology into WatchGuard’s MSP-focused ecosystem, advanced cloud application security becomes operational, scalable, and commercially viable for service providers of any size.
At the time of acquisition, the service supports more than 40 applications, including Microsoft 365, OpenAI, HubSpot, ConnectWise, Salesforce, Google Workspace, and Jira. New applications are being integrated at a pace unprecedented in the market to strengthen security and respond to an ever-evolving threat landscape.
