It’s true that graphics card prices haven’t been falling as quickly as SSDs recently, but the strengthening of the złoty in recent months has made it a great time to upgrade your computer’s specifications. Especially with the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion and the much-anticipated Starfield just around the corner.

Prices won’t drop much anymore

2023 can probably be described as a year of normalcy. After years of pandemic turmoil and cryptocurrency frenzy, some calm has finally come, also on the PC component market. I mentioned a week ago that SSDs are currently at record low prices, and devices such as processors and graphics cards are getting cheaper thanks to the strengthening złoty. At the same time, we haven’t had any major premieres recently, and the drop in interest means that demand for new cards is not overly high today. All this has an impact on prices, AMD Radeon cards are getting significantly cheaper, but models with the GeForce logo can also be purchased at quite good prices. So if you’re thinking about changing, there’s probably not much to wait for. But what’s worth buying?

What graphics card up to 1000 PLN?

1000 PLN is unfortunately a relatively small amount these days if we are thinking about buying a new graphics card, but it does not mean that you cannot buy anything sensible at this price. The best in terms of price to performance ratio is Radeon RX 6600 equipped with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. It is not a performance demon, but for quiet gaming in FullHD resolution it will be enough not only in older but also in the newest games or those that will be released in the near future. The basic condition is to limit yourself to the resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, which is not so bad after all ;-).

What graphics card up to 2000 PLN?

In this segment, the choice is a bit bigger. Around PLN 1,500, you can already find cards based on the system GeForce RTX 4060 8GB, the latest model from NVIDIA. It wasn’t particularly well-received by gamers, but at a price of around PLN 1,400 it’s an interesting proposition, mainly due to access to technologies such as Ray Tracing or DLSS3 with frame generation, which can significantly improve frame rates in games. Another advantage of the card is its energy requirements and support for the latest technologies, such as the hardware AV1 encoder and decoder. Here, however, we also have to limit ourselves to 1080p resolution.

By adding about 300 PLN we can try to buy Radeon 6700 XT 12GBwhich offers significantly better performance in standard rendering and could even be tempted to play at 1440p. This is largely due to the larger VRAM capacity, which is important at higher resolutions. However, the RX 6700 XT is no longer the newest system and can be quite power-hungry.

What graphics card up to PLN 3,000?

If we increase the limit to 3000 PLN, models that allow playing in higher resolutions and details start to appear. An interesting proposition is Radeon 6800 XT with 16GB VRAM memory, which is almost at the level of GeForce RTX 3080 in terms of performance, and has also recently become significantly cheaper. Cards of this type can be purchased for around PLN 2,500, which, considering the amount of memory and overall performance, seems like a great price. However, you have to reckon with the fact that this is a power-hungry design.

Currently, one of the most interesting cards from NVIDIA is available for the price of up to PLN 3,000, GeForce RTX 4070 12GBwhich offers great performance, boasts a more modern architecture and, above all, lower energy consumption. The suggested retail price of this model is PLN 3,199, but it is currently available in stores for around PLN 285o, so significantly cheaper. It is true that it will not be very suitable for gaming in 2160p resolution (unless you use DLSS 3 and frame generation), but it is still a very good proposition.

What graphics card up to PLN 4,000?

In the range of PLN 3,000 to 4,000 there is basically only one graphics card worth recommending. Radeon RX 7900 XT with 20GB VRAM memory offers performance that should satisfy everyone, regardless of resolution. It definitely wins in most tests, for example with the GeForce RTX 4070Ti 12 GB, which is slightly more expensive and has much less memory, which is why it performs worse in high resolutions. The card from AMD is the only sensible offer in this price range, and it’s no wonder, because it has become much cheaper in recent months.

What graphics card up to PLN 5,000?

In the range of 4000 to 5000 PLN, the only reasonable option seems to be an AMD card – Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GBwhich starts at around PLN 4,500. It offers performance similar to the GeForce RTX 4080, but at a much lower price. What’s more, if you don’t only care about games, but use the GPU for work, 24 GB of built-in VRAM may be important. With this card, you can easily play in resolutions up to 4K and high quality settings, although it may be a bit worse if you want to use ray tracing.

What graphics card for over 5000 PLN?

When you exceed the level of 5,000 PLN, the first one to appear will be: GeForce RTX 4080 with 16GB VRAMthe prices of which currently start at around PLN 5,400. That’s a good PLN 500 cheaper than 2 months ago. The top of the top is GeForce RTX 4090 with 24GB memory, which currently costs around PLN 7,500. The choice is of course yours, but it seems to me that even when playing in 4K resolution, the RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX seem to be sufficient. Especially if we use solutions such as DLSS 3 or Super Resolution.
