Veeam Software has announced Veeam Intelligent ResOps, a new solution introduced during VeeamON 2026 in New York, which unifies data context and recovery. As agentic AI accelerates change, Intelligent ResOps gives teams the visibility into their data they need to quickly understand impact and recover accurately, without needing to roll back extensive changes in the face of an incident.

Intelligent ResOps is the first resiliency solution in the new Veeam DataAI™ Command Platform and helps organizations back up and preserve data more intelligently, prioritize incident response with clear context about what has changed (including AI-driven changes), and restore only affected data, reducing risk, disruption, and recovery time.
Tools with resilience capabilities
Veeam Intelligent ResOps is the first in a new generation of resilience capabilities designed for the era of agentic AI, where data context, identity and activity are inseparable from AI itself. Microsoft 365, the world’s most used SaaS application and where much of organizations’ sensitive and regulated data resides, is the first supported workload.
The core of Veeam Intelligent ResOps is the DataAI Command Graph. This unified intelligence layer continuously maps data, users, permissions, AI agents, activity, and protection status to provide actionable context across environments. This context helps teams understand what data they have, which is most important, which is at risk, and which is protected, so they can act more quickly before, during, and after incidents. Intelligent ResOps is not currently a standalone offering, but is marketed as an extension of Veeam’s core resilience solutions on the Veeam DataAI Command platform. It extends Veeam’s existing proven capabilities so that backup, recovery, and data decisions are based on context, not guesswork.

Resilience operations need context, especially in the age of AI. Because AI assistants and agents process business information at machine speed, a small error or malicious action can spread across thousands of files before teams even realize it has happened. In those times, resiliency teams don’t just need restore points; They need connected intelligence that explains what has changed, where it has spread, whether the affected data is confidential, regulated or ROT, who or what agent intervened in it, and what is protected from what has been exposed. Just as important, they need the confidence to restore exactly what needs to be restored and avoid reintroducing what shouldn’t.

New capabilities with Veeam Intelligent ResOps
Veeam Intelligent ResOps adds a layer of intelligence to resilience operations so teams can connect the context of the data (what it is, who or what can act on it, and what has changed) with the protection state (what is covered and can be recovered). The result is faster, more informed decisions in preparedness, incident response and recovery.
- Contextual intelligence. Identify which data is sensitive, subject to regulation, business-critical, or redundant/obsolete/trivial (ROT) to guide resilience decisions with real-world context.
- Backup and recovery. Use connected intelligence to accelerate incident response and enable surgical recoveries, restoring only what is necessary rather than extensive, disruptive restorations.
- Data lifecycle intelligence. Detects pockets of ROT data, storage risk exposure, and misaligned policies that increase risk and backup volume.
- Trust and resilience in AI. Provides visibility into AI agent activity and makes it easier to investigate and revert unwanted agent-driven modifications using Agent Commander.
- Intelligence agent. It allows you to consult Veeam as an integrated intelligence agent and receive natural language information about data and AI to accelerate research, reporting and daily operational decisions.
First supported workload: Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 is the first workload supported by Veeam Intelligent ResOps, expanding Veeam’s proven ability to protect 25 million Microsoft 365 users. Intelligent ResOps provides shared context between the production and backup environment for SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange. Available as an add-on for Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365, it allows teams to:
- Get full context. Locate sensitive data, subject to regulations and ROT both in production and backup.
- Track every action. Understand user and Copilot activity, including what AI agents can access, share, and expose.
- Recover in minutes. Restore only what is necessary, avoiding extensive and slow restorations.
